GeeMack, how would you feel if you lost your 4.0 because someone treats you like you're worthless, yells at you and hits you in class, and then none of your friends stand up for you because they're worried about them getting in trouble with the school for speaking up about a problem, and when you tell your advisor and the Dean's office they call you a liar and say that you don't need a 4.0 anyway and should stop being obsessed with your grades.
Well, I can tell you one thing I
wouldn't do. I wouldn't steadfastly deny reality like you are doing. That's not how sane, rational people respond to that kind of situation. And maybe you should stop being obsessed about your grades, especially when your obsession drives you to lying.
And that brings us to another point. If my college advisor, the people in the Dean's office, and a whole bunch of people I engaged in a discussion on an Internet forum
all recognized that I was lying, I'd seriously consider that I might have a very real mental health problem, and I'd go get a professional evaluation.
I don't think you can relate to that since I'm sure your grades were never that good.
Remember, we already know that
your grades aren't that good. And now you're fictionalizing grades for other people, too? That's not how sane, rational people act in a situation like this. Also, my inability to relate to your problem has nothing to do with what my college grades were (something like 35 years ago), but with the fact that I was never so obsessed with getting
anything that I would lie to myself and the rest of the world just to have it.
I don't think I should return to the JREF Forums. It's just harassment.
If you can't take the heat...
See you next time the thread is about to fall off the front page!
