Veterinary woo

Oh, I can put them on a server all right, I just don't know how people would download them.

Rofle,

They on a web server? If there in the actual web directories, you should be able to link to them just like you would for a URL.

For example, say I have a web server set up. My "web root" directory (the folder I store all the pages and such in) is, say, C:\data\Webpage. That directory contains my pages and such that make up my page. I might have other directories, each with their own index.html files, for other pages of my site. The external user accesses my web page by my domain address (ILoveHuntsman.com), which automagically points them to the C:\data\Webpage\index.html file. With me so far?

Now, I want to make a downloadable file. I copy a file, say HuntsmanisGreat.exe, into my C:\data\Webpage folder. Them, the link to that file is simply http://ILoveHuntsman.com/HuntsmanIsGreat.exe. You structure the link just like you would to another web page on a site (assuming you're using HTML).

Was that understandable at all? ;)

Rolfe,

They work great :) I'm downloading them now.

I imagine they took a while to upload...it's only taking me about 3 minutes to download though. Broadband upload speeds are still generally pretty slow. ADSL connections usually only run from 128kbps to 256kbps upload (about 1/10 the downlspeed)...cable about 256k to 512k (also about 1/10th the download).

Is it true that the AVMA considers acupuncture a "valid modality"?

How does one go about changing that?

The address of the author of the presentation is on the first slide. Ask him!

Have them downloaded, but haven't had a chance to look at them yet. Thanks for posting them. They're next in queue after the Kevin Miller presentation to Case Western that was posted this weekend.

Gosh, so they do! I never realised it was that easy,

I've only just realised that Bob's notes go on a lot longer than the actual presentation did. There were time issues. So I'm going to have to read them a bit more carefully.

Fan-bloody-tastic. Ages ago, Tricky asked why I remained with a vet office who had cards on their desk advertising accupuncture for pets. I never responded because they're nice people - they supplied all four of out cats (abandoned strays) have a great cattery attached to their hospital and are lovely people. Just because one is apparently a 'big fan' of accupuncture didn't mean I wanted to leave them. :(

I'll see if I can get a copy of this to them. At least it's better than my last effort of just asking if they knew that it was debatable and them saying 'well, she's a registered vet, wouldn't she know what she is doing?' and my not having info to discuss it further. So, thank you! :)A

Downloaded the ppt over a heavily shared network 22 minutes (in the middle of the night, so I hope the admins didn't notice.) The doc file I just opened and saved to the hard drive.

Something to watch this evening.

Enjoyed the powerpoint - thanks very much!

Funny to get something written by a guy in Seattle (65 miles from here), from somebody in the UK.

We were kind of hoping that some of his persuasion might turn up to the meeting to contribute to the discussion, but in fact they stayed away in droves.

Yes but my next door neighbour hails from Seattle, so it only goes to show it's all connected somehow!
