No, there isn't actually. Well, not until their tourist or student visa expires. Then they are illegal aliens by definition, with no right to be in the USA. Just the same as refugees on temporary visas awaiting processing, which is the biggest number of so called "illegals".by far.

One difference is that there is a strong selection process in both student and tourist visas, so the demographics of the two groups that you're talking about are going to be quite different.

If I remember correctly, this is the 3rd example I have posted of an illegal alien who was given a slap on the wrist for child rape and then released by local officials without them contacting ICE. To me, this goes beyond border and immigration and is a societal problem.

Silly still. What's worse, the guy that stays past his welcome at a party or the guy that just comes into you house without your permission.

The folks that overstay their welcome have come in legally through a legal border crossing and talked to immigration on the way in. That is a very different thing than coming in illegally across the border. Most folks understand that and see the obvious difference.

Show me footage of thousands, hundreds, or even tens of foreigners trying to rush past airport security to get into the US and I will admit it's a reasonable comparison.

ETA, you are correct, they are still illegal aliens and when discovered they will be deported and as I understand it forbidden from reentry, much like illegal border crossers.
