• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

Twitter has started blocking unregistered users

How many followers do you have Samson? Since you started paying $8 a month for a free website? Genuine question

Lots of blue tickers defending Musk and saying those without ticks should be even more limited.

Getting a tick used to be a way for celebs and public figures to identify themselves among all the fake accounts.
Now it seems to be a symbol of devotion to Elon.

When I bothered I had about 600 followers because I was funny and engaging. The cargo cultists hink it's the blue tick that gets you followers, not the funny and engaging bit

I logged in a few weeks ago after creating an account, which was great, no one ever asked me for money.
Hand on heart.

So your comment that "I have learned plenty from Twitter in 24 hours with no barrier, I must be in a discredited parallel universe" had absolutely nothing to do with the current outage and you were just rushing to Musks defence? Sounds exactly like a blue tick to me

I am enjoying ordinary access, but I may have only been on one interesting link, come to think of it. But I learned from the universal muse. There is no possible path to the learning outside of Musks Twitter.
Just saying.

Let me be clear.
The great unwashed in the southern hemisphere love Musk for replatforming those the democrats tried to banish.
We are pretty unsophisticated, sadly, we just like Shakespeare, Dahl, Wodehouse, Twain, the way we read them.

I wish I had said that.

You mean like where the "grown-ups" were claiming meany-pants poopy-headed Musk brought this on himself because he refused to pay Google for their cloud services? Yeah, typical grown-uping for this forum.

Who else brought this outage on?

Twitter was canceling people.
Good, if that makes a utilitarian outcome.
Xi Peng is a benevolent dictator, and there is a powerful argument that Chinese are the happiest of all people.
But the thread is about access to voices contributing to Twitter, and I have had no interruption.

Is this the same Twitter that has acquiesced to more demands for "cancellation" from oppressive regimes since Musk tool over or another Twitter you've just made up?
