Truth Statistics

The number of non-posters is strangely high. Why have they even bothered to register.

I have no idea what happened to them - especially because
it's the amount of members in their "new" forum. And it's even
more mysterious that 1286 (55%) never posted...

Frankly, I think those stats are quite usual for an internet forum. I haven't done the math, but after a quick look at the JREF member stats I'll wager that it will show roughly the same distribution (although the numbers are, of course, bigger). Certainly, more than half the registered members here have zero posts.

Indeed, more than 5700 of JREF's 11735 members have 0 posts!
That's more or less 50%.

Notice that most threads have at least ten times as many reads as posts. Some much more. There are always a lot of "lurkers". Then of course there are sleeping sock-puppets and such ....

That's true. i wouldn't bother to register just to read though. You could do that without registering. But such are the ways of the boards.

Those are some slick charts (visually, that is). What program do you use to make them?

Thank you for your compliment. I use Illustrator and Photoshop
to make such images. I have nothing to do today so i train my
skills concerning Charts and Graphs. :)

Killtown has now 3260 posts. He has been a member since October 18th, 2006. That's 150 days. That means he writes an astounding 21,73 posts a day.

Just to expand on this a little, the top 20 posters at LC have, among them, almost one-third of all LC posts (22,939 out of 69,200 = 33.14%). The top 50 have almost half. Another example of the Twoof movement being a very small, prolifically posting, if not terribly bright, bunch.

That's nothing, last year, before PFT, over a 2-3 month period, JDX was posting nearly 50 times a day.

Does this mean the number of posts is inversely proportional to logical thinking?

I think so ... Roxfrog is number three and Errorspell number 7 ... :D

ETA: Oh Wait! Lyte Trip is behind Russel. I guess i have to check the data for errors...

And he had sustained periods of 100-200 posts per day. I think the bestockinged pdoherty76 must hold the truther record. He had about 750 in two days here, which averages to a post every two minutes for 12 hours a day. I wonder how many posts he would have made if this forum didn't have a 60-second anti-spam buffer between posts.

It's interesting to see how much more involved Dylan Avery is with the current LC forum. He doesn't realize that putting his thoughts in writing is like handing his critics a crate of ammunition.

"3257 Killtown" looks like it'd be the name of an asteroid. Luckily asteroid #3257 is actually named "Hanzlik", so Killtown will have to wait until later to get an asteroid named for him.

p.s. :randi: is #3163 ;)

In two days, you could theoretically post a maximum of 2,880 times (one post per minute for 48 hours = 2,880). This assumes you don't sleep, eat at your computer, don't work, and don't go to the bathroom for two full days. Also, it assumes that none of your posts are longer than your maximum per-minute typing speed.

I believe that, given the quality of PDoh's work, he didn't put too much thought into the content of each post. But even so, 750 posts in two days borders on the obsessive.
