Trump's Second Term

Trump: You gotta win the midterms. Because if we don't win the midterms, I'll get impeached.
Self aware about how much Republicans are fighting against accountability, eh? No surprise there, mob boss wannabe.

Wait. What?

Something something Noem's blankie? Story is paywalled (or signup-walled or whatever).
I'm not finding too much in the way of details, honestly. Still, there's this -

In the blanket incident, Noem had to switch planes after a maintenance issue was discovered, but her blanket wasn’t moved to the second plane, according to the people familiar with the incident. The Coast Guard pilot was initially fired and told to take a commercial flight home when they reached their destination. They eventually reinstated the pilot because no one else was available to fly them home.

Lets go back to buying cars that waste fuel all the time they're idling at the lights. Because think of how that fuel you're throwing away will pwn the Libs.

I'm just waiting for Trump to autosharpie an XO making it a criminal offence to say your truck spewing filthy black smoke is "rolling coal" because that's slander; coal is famously clean and beautiful.
I'm reminded of the Trump Administration's mandated Postal Service vehicle redo that was supposed to lead to more gas efficient vehicles which was done to make the replacement USPS vehicles as gas guzzling as they could get away with. Being literally 1 pound lighter than a weight limit on paper, for example, is a pretty clear sign that the efforts to reduce gas usage were very insincere.

Start/stop systems were invented by Toyota in 1974 and were being adopted by Japanese and European car makers in the 90s.

Lee Zeldin: There will be no more climate participation trophies awarded to manufacturers who make Americans’ vehicles die at every red light and stop sign. It’s over. The Start/Stop Obama Switch is FINISHED!

Under President Trump’s leadership, manufacturers can build the vehicles Americans actually want, instead of the vehicles that politicians and bureaucrats in Washington demand.

Just learn to drive properly, you ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ wanker!

I've had auto stop/start for a decade and IT IS NOT A PROBLEM. Well, unless you are a total, utter, utter and total braindead excuse for an absolutely incompetent nincompoop of a complete Terry. Which you clearly are...

But if they didn't whine and gripe endlessly about various made-up crises like scary trans kids, Haitians eating cats and dogs, and stopping at stop signs and red lights being difficult for them, people might start to pay too much attention to all the horrible crap they're doing.

so i think their plan is to reduce rates to nothing, print a bunch of money, point out to some short term stats as how great the economy is doing to buy themselves some time. until what? there's obviously a point where you've pulled all the rabbits out of your hat and there has to be a real economy to back all that talk up

Bessent: "... 2026 is gonna be a banquet for the American people. "
Like in one of those old movies, where the rich, fat lords sit at the banqueting table stuffing their faces, while the serfs stand back and wait, hoping one will throw a bone over his shoulder which still has some meat on it.

I'm hopeful that things are heating up here. The latest is that congress is quite upset at finding that Blondie, under the excuse of security, has been logging the instances of lawmakers accessing the unredacted Epstein files, and using her personal knowledge of their access in her testimony, which has, as usual, been at the level of a schoolyard bully's taunts. It's hard to imagine there could be such a thing as a second-rate Trump, but she's doing her best.

I guess they hope that at that point the US isn't a democracy anymore and they don't have to worry about approval ratings anymore :( . Like a certain angry Austrian who took up huge loans to give the impression he had fixed the German economy, and got away with it because they controlled the German media and no one could point out what they were actually doing.

That's one thing I've become aware of. What they state publicly will be the charges or lawsuit can be very different to what actually is presented to the court.
I should add that the judge's order in this case is on the entertaining side of judicial writing. At one point judge summarizes Hegseth's argument and starts the response with "Horsefeathers!"

Her obstinance tanked the funding. That's an important element. She knows whatever she does can only be destruction, especially telling the unadulterated truth.

I'll add that to ideas for future metaphors, alongside the shark claws.

So he had a large part of one of the most iconic buildings in America torn down for a vanity project that he now seems to have decided he doesn't want after all
I think you're misinterpreting his actions.
He had a large part of one of the most iconic buildings in America torn down because he needed a distraction from either something he'd done\hadn't done\the Epstein files. It was just a large, culture destroying set of jangly keys

Well, obviously until the democrats get power and they can blame the resulting crash on them.
