Trump's Second Term

To poke at a couple things again -

First!

Political observers raged over the weekend after the New York Times reported that FBI Director Kash Patel personally ordered local prosecutors to cease investigating the death of Renee Good because he feared it would contradict President Donald Trump's version of the killing.

What is there to say beyond Kash Patel and company are utterly unfit for the position? A lot, really, possibly including much earned curse words.

Second!

An 86-page Justice Department prosecution memo that included details on “potential co-conspirators” of Jeffrey Epstein “mysteriously disappeared” from the DOJ’s website after the agency was asked about the document by the Miami Herald, investigative reporter Julie Brown revealed Saturday.

“Contrary to what the FBI and DOJ have said over the past year, it turns out there really is an FBI list of other people suspected of possible wrongdoing in connection with Jeffrey Epstein,” Brown, who writes for the Herald, wrote on her Substack Saturday.

Uh huh.

Third!

Attorney General Pam Bondi is scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, Feb. 11, but according to journalist Aaron Parnas, Republicans on the committee have been instructed not to mention the Justice Department’s botched release of files on Jeffrey Epstein.

“Epstein survivors tell me that they were told in meetings with Republican lawmakers that everyone was supportive of asking Pam Bondi hard questions about the Epstein files,” Parnas wrote in a statement shared on social media Saturday.

“But, afterwards, they were told by a source in the Republican establishment that those questions won’t be asked. Republicans members have been told to avoid any questions about the files and to only focus on the ‘positives’ that Bondi accomplished.”

Sorry if this off topic, but I posted this in the NFL thread, and I don't know if this is the right place either, although it's still interesting.

From the preliminary numbers I'm seeing. The Super Bowl halftime show probably drew over a 100 million, while the TP (maga weirdo) show drew around 5 million.

Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports said the "All American Halftime Show" had over 5 million concurrent views on the Turning Point USA and Charlie Kirk YouTube pages.

While the official numbers for the 2026 halftime show are not in yet, we can estimate an average from past shows. In 2024, Usher drew 123.4 million viewers, and last year, Kendrick Lamar had 133.5 million views. Lamar has been ranked the highest yet and has been placed on number one position by Billboard.

As a Black man who voted for President Trump, I sat back and reflected on the video everyone is calling racist...

This may disappoint a lot of people. I may lose followers for saying this. But I have to be honest.

I still stand with Donald Trump.

For years, people have pushed the narrative that he’s racist. They even claimed there was a tape of him using the N-word. It’s been nearly a decade, and that tape has never appeared.

At some point, you have to ask if people are more interested in taking him down than telling the truth.

People also keep leaving out the context. That clip wasn’t even the purpose of the video — it was part of a screen recording about election issues. But that didn’t stop people from rushing to label him something I know, from my own experience, he is not...

Williams is standing with TACO because he's a grifter who's been Johnny No Mates with years.

That should surpise nobody. To be cynical most epople would not bother to change the channels.
And the official halftime show has a lot more big names. The unofficial were mianly hasbeens.

I'm not a big fan of paying to watch the NFL, and besides, the last time I watched it was when the Seahawks and Patriots played in the SB. That's when you could watch it for free, although I have to give the NFL big-time credit for sticking to their guns with Bad Bunny.

I miss being able to watch the commercials more than anything else. Some of them were really funny.

Worst half time show ever
An affront to the greatness of America
Disgusting dancing
Can't understand a word
Stock Market!

I thought they were all watching Kid Rock?

The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World. This “Show” is just a “slap in the face” to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Especially ironic coming from a repeat bankrupted, convicted felon, avowed assaulter and insulter of women, enjoying vulgar and gross "jokes", who has never ever created anything, never excelled in anything other than grift, is unable to speak any other language than English, in which he cannot speak coherently, and has embarrassed himself and all viewers by waddling gracelessly while pretending to be dancing …

Yesterday, one side was a multimillion dollar multicultural extravaganza of popular entertainment watched by millions -- when Americans weren't in the kitchen getting more wings and beer or in the restroom taking a piss. The other side was a sullen, sad, miserable affair of angry over-the-hill has-beens whose glory days were that one song about how they want to bang teenagers, watched by a handful of angry miserable people bent to the protection of billionaires who raped teenagers.

Trump spent the day mad tweeting in absolute unhinged fury over ... entertainment, determined to drive the wedge of division in just as far as it will go.
And the same Americans who are insane with rage over every little thing were insane with rage over a show, ready to do battle, ready murder each other, over entertainment in the middle of a sporting event that will not matter to history in any fashion whatsoever.

Why did the silly nonsense have to "riff on the Lion King" at all in the first place?
The second word of "Lion King" might be relevant here. We might also ponder who might like to play the part of that king.

I don't usually watch the commercials, but I made a point of watching them during this year's Super Bowl, hoping one of them would be funny. I don't think you missed much, if anything.

I'm not one of those folk who watch the big game *only* for the commercials, but nonetheless I do watch the ad breaks.

My summary of this year's commercials so far:

AI slop
AI slop
Money Management
AI slop
Hey, fatty, use GLP drugs
AI slop
AIPAC propaganda
AI slop
