Trump's Second Term

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
I can't watch the new NFL Kickoff. Like many others, I just turn my head. Who has the right to make such a change? So disparaging to the game! The original was Big Time, Strong, Glamorous, and Exciting. The ridiculous new Kickoff Rule takes away the prestige and power of the game. I hope College Football doesn't follow suit!

Trump would actually like to play with the old rules but, you know, bonespurs.

So the Epstein files have all been released now, Donny? Now that you have time for this...

Welker: DOJ is now 37 days past the deadline. Less than 1% of the Epstein files have been released.

Blanche: We will not rush that process.
We will not risk victim information being released, and I would hope that Congress doesn’t want us to do that

That would have more credibility if they hadn't failed to redact dozens of victims names, whilst redacting Trump's name from many.

It has credibility as a "how normal operations should be handled" reason, especially after getting reprimanded over such. That they hadn't done it in the first place (before getting to the rest of their shenanigans) just shows, yet again, what their actual priorities are. That those actual priorities give strong cause to doubt their honesty and professionalism both here and in general because of how they conflict with such is a sad, but unavoidable thing.

Trump is in control! He is sending Tom Homan to arrest Ilhan Omar.
I am sending Tom Homan to Minnesota tonight. He has not been involved in that area, but knows and likes many of the people there.
Additionally, the DOJ and Congress are looking at “Congresswoman” Illhan Omar, who left Somalia with NOTHING, and is now reportedly worth more than 44 Million Dollars. Time will tell all. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT

Stephen Miller
@StephenM
Mass judge and jury nullification, deep in blue territory, of slam-dunk assault cases against federal law enforcement

Miller, being such a clueless evil prick, probably didn't realize that he just provided every potential juror in the US a "get-out-of-jury-duty-free" card:
just admitting that you have heard of jury nullification is usually enough to get you dismissed from the pool of potentials.

Yeah, that quote is false, it's literally not what he said. Even as a paraphrase it's wrong. There's a major difference between a statement about what should be and a statement about what is likely to be. Trump said it was unlikely that Russia would give up all the territory they seized, he did not say they should not give it up. And as a factual assessment, it's probably correct. Nobody is putting forward a plan that would actually make Russia pull out.
Dude, that's not the point. He's acting as a diplomat representing the United States and our allies. He shouldn't have been saying anything along those lines at all. Not out loud. Maybe in the war room with all of his military and international advisors present. But definitely not within earshot of his diplomatic opponent, which is the Putin-led Russian regime! As a REAL negotiator, you keep these things to yourself. "Art of the Deal" my ass!

You're assuming that Putin is who that's aimed at. That's not an unreasonable guess, but I don't think it's actually correct. I think he's negotiating with Europe, not with Putin, and what he's negotiating is the level of support that THEY will provide to Ukraine. And in that sense, the statement isn't so much a minimalist demand as a maximalist demand: Europe needs to step up to the plate in a major way or Ukraine is toast. You can argue about whether or not this is the right approach, but if I'm right about who that's targeted at, it's very much in line with his general approach to negotiations.

Reminds me of another 'self made' (ie: Inherited the business) man I used to work for who considered himself a genius. After an argument with one of the delivery drivers he turned to the operations manager (in front of the driver) and said "I want this ◊◊◊◊ out of here now, I don't care if it costs me five grand, I want him gone!", and storms off. The ops director then turns to the driver with an apologetic smile and says "So.. Would you leave for £500?"...

Needless to say that turned into an expensive day for them.
