Trump's Second Term

speaking of canada, carney speaks of a new world order

This is a very big deal. For years Canada has let the US strongarm us into their misadventures on trade and other area but no more. Carney, along with much of this country, understands that we have to chart our own course now that the US can't be considered a reliable partner ever again.

I'm speaking at a conference next month on the topic of how businesses can reorient their supply chains away from america.

I am glad to see our leadership understands what the stakes are.

So moch for Ozempic

Trump: "A friend of mine who's a very smart guy, very very rich, very powerful man actually. But he's very fat. And he took the fat drug. I won't give you which one. It was Ozempic ... the drug doesn't work on him. I saw him recently. He's actually fatter than ever."

He's forgotten he's told this story?

That's nonsense, though. Democrats aren't having people shot for exercising free speech. Democrats aren't going door to door terrorising people. Democrats aren't starting wars with our allies. The Republicans are trying to bring Apartheid to the USA.

The "both sides do it" narrative is nonsense and has been since it was first uttered. If Democrats had control of all three branches, and a Democrat POTUS decided to do the things Trump is doing, Democrats would impeach and remove that person, with the support of Republicans.
Democrats aren't just better than Republicans, they are progressively trying to make the country a better place to live for all people, not just the wealthy, white men.
No, I've found that their weakness is encouraging Trump. Not both sides do it, the are both doing things dangerous to the constitution and the USA, one is attacking and one isn't defending as they should

Iceland's another candidate. Trump gave them an ambassador that was talking about Iceland becoming the 52nd state, IIRC.

I spent a couple of weeks cruising around Iceland last year and met quite a few of its people. Part of me is hoping Trump tries to pursue this, because it would be highly entertaining.

Did someone leave one of the mirrors uncovered?

His mind is turning back to Panama

Trump: We lost 38,000 men -- in those days it was men. I hate to say this, but mostly men. They didn't have a lot of women workers on the Panama canal. We lost 38,000 people. They died from malaria and snakebites -- it was a combination of the vicious snake, one of the most vicious. They died from snake bites

"We"? About 300 Americans died, IIRC, and fewer than 35,000 overall. And disease was the main killer.
