Trump's Second Term

Donald's going to increase the military budget for 2027 to $1.5 Trillion Dollars to build the “Dream Military” that "we have long been entitled to" Tariffs will pay for it.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
After long and difficult negotiations with Senators, Congressmen, Secretaries, and other Political Representatives, I have determined that, for the Good of our Country, especially in these very troubled and dangerous times, our Military Budget for the year 2027 should not be $1 Trillion Dollars, but rather $1.5 Trillion Dollars. This will allow us to build the "Dream Military" that we have long been entitled to and, more importantly, that will keep us SAFE and SECURE, regardless of foe. If it weren't for the tremendous numbers being produced by Tariffs from other Countries, many of which, in the past, have "ripped off" the United States at levels never seen before, I would stay at the $1 Trillion Dollar number but, because of Tariffs, and the tremendous Income that they bring, amounts being generated, that would have been unthinkable in the past (especially just one year ago during the Sleepy Joe Biden Administration, the Worst President in the History of our Country!), we are able to easily hit the $1.5 Trillion Dollar number while, at the same time, producing an unparalleled Military Force, and having the ability to, at the same time, pay down Debt, and likewise, pay a substantial Dividend to moderate income Patriots within our Country!

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

The economy is doing SO GOOD right now that Donald is now telling companies that they aren't allowed to issue dividends and they have to spend that money on building infrastructure, and that their executives have to take pay cuts. Also, he's "banning stock buybacks".

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump

All United State Defense Contractors, and the Defense Industry as a whole, BEWARE: While we make the best Military Equipment in the World (No other Country is even close!), Defense Contractors are currently issuing massive Dividends to their Shareholders and massive Stock Buybacks, at the expense and detriment of investing in Plants and Equipment. This situation will no longer be allowed or tolerated!

Also, Executive Pay Packages in the Defense Industry are exorbitant and unjustifiable given how slowly these Companies are delivering vital Equipment to our Military, and our Allies.

Salaries, Stock Options, and every other form of Compensation are far too high for these Executives. Defense Companies are not producing our Great Military Equipment rapidly enough and, once produced, not maintaining it properly or quickly. From this moment forward, these Executives must build NEW and MODERN Production Plants, both for delivering and maintaining this important Equipment, and for building the latest Models of future Military Equipment. Until they do so, no Executive should be allowed to make in excess of $5 Million Dollars which, as high as it sounds, is a mere fraction of what they are making now.

Additionally, the maintenance and repair of Equipment, once sold, is far too slow, and must be immediately enhanced. As President, I am demanding that maintenance be "spot on, on time."

Therefore, I will not permit Dividends or Stock Buybacks for Defense Companies until such time as these problems are rectified - Likewise, for Salaries and Executive Compensation.

MILITARY EQUIPMENT IS NOT BEING MADE FAST ENOUGH! It must be built now with the Dividends, Stock Buybacks, and Over Compensation of Executives, rather than borrowing from Financial Institutions, or getting the money from your Government. Longer term, this is good for both Executives and Shareholders, because it will be GREAT for our Country! Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

DONALD J. TRUMP

Based on testimony today, I have enough evidence to believe both @GovTimWalz and @keithellison were knowingly complicit in a Somali fraud scheme in Minnesota.

Therefore I have referred them BOTH to the DOJ for criminal charges. May justice be swift. The American people are tired of being taken advantage of.

Straight out of the facist handbook.

Never forget January 6.

Well yeah, I could have mentioned that. But, Trump also claimed he "knew nothing about project 2025". I figure pointing out all the links the previous administration had with it though was enough to get the point across.

Fair enough. Trump was claiming that he knew nothing about Project 2025 while pushing part after part after part of it, though, which rather negates any real value that his denial may hold, before getting to the rest, though.

Well, yeah, He cut funding for projects designed to address right-wing extremism. And yes, I know the whole "neo-nazis are fine people/lunch with a white nationalist" didn't really have much direct impact. But, references are simplistic enough without having to know about thing like crime statistics. Its easy for even the dumbest MAGAchud to understand.

Ehh. That'd work better if the whole fine people thing wasn't turned into one of the loudly repeated grievances about unfair criticism of Trump. If your target is pretty much any "MAGAchud," that will pretty much immediately discredit you. The spirit of the complaint is quite correct, sure, but the specific example is easily refutable with a clarification statement shortly after, even if the circumstances as a whole show that defense to be very poor.

Yeah I could have mentioned the COVID response. But, I was trying to keep my list to things that showed actual malicious intent (i.e. Trump pushing racism and authoritarianism) rather than incompetence (something I would lump the Covid response into.)

If you're invoking malicious intent like that, Trump's response to COVID is probably the single most damning thing that can be raised on the topic of malicious intent. Far more so than the examples that you raised. Remember, Trump was caught on tape admitting that he was lying like crazy as he downplayed COVID for entirely selfish reasons, before getting to everything else about that. Yes, incompetence was involved, too, but Trump's lies and choices to further his self interest led to huge numbers of avoidable American deaths, disproportionately Republicans. If you want to poke at "MAGAchuds," that hits much harder than those other things anyways.

There were a lot of other things I could have brought up... his poor handling of national security issues (giving away secret data to russians and Iran), the fact he nominated Drunky McRapeface and the Stepford Wife to the supreme court (the same court that said "Presidents can do illegal stuff. And that women are second class citizens). But, I had to put some limits on the list, since I could have mentioned dozens of other examples of Trump's maliciousness and incompetence. The examples I did cite should have been enough to disqualify anyone from becoming president, but for 49% of people, they were OK with it.

To be clear, I wasn't criticizing that you didn't try to raise everything seriously wrong, because that way lies madness trying to remember it all. It's just that what you did raise felt like it greatly undersold how very bad things were in the categories that you raised, which also happens to be a common tactic for those seeking to spin things to make them seem better than they were. I doubt and doubted that such was your intent, but that doesn't change the problem noted.

Yeah the "information distribution system" might be broken, but keep in mind that the same issue affects other countries. Yet none of them have descended as far as the US did.
I think I'll note that this point is entirely tangential to the point that I made and isn't really disagreeing, so I'll stop there.
