In the back of my mind I've always wondered if Trump could switch to leftist populism as easily as he switched to right-wing populism. Like, he'd be all for UHC, unconcerned about DEI efforts, a cheerleader for more permissive (actually, saner) immigration laws. He appears to be falling in love with Mamdani. With a Democratic or at least bipartisan Congress he could have completely different priorities.

Cue the old question : cui bono? Who benefits? Well the EU and other Western countries have DEI type legislation so relations with them will be downgraded. Who benefits from that? Countries who regard those nations as enemies - e.g. by providing aid to Ukraine.

He could reverse himself at any moment, and he's already downgraded relations with the EU so much that I'm not sure it matters. He's fine disavowing NATO which presumably benefits Russia. He can say the EU has just as bad a human-rights record as Putin - normalizing Putin's aggression - but in this area it's possible he'd get pushback from congressional Republicans. As far as I know, EU countries are not invading neighbors and causing wars that kill a million people.

On this we are in agreement. If a person is eligible for citizenship, including all of its' responsibilities, then they should be eligible for every aspect of citizenship, including all of its' opportunities.

What? AI is used on digital binary computers, dude. YOU have no clue how the ◊◊◊◊ it works. It's just a statistical model that "learns" how spoken human language works through LLMs. Large Language Models. It merely references sources that its programmers want it to reference. It doesn't make a single damn decision on its own, and it doesn't think on its own. It doesn't use an ounce of skepticism. It just blurts out whatever it is told to blurt out. Also, "AI" has existed since the ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ 1950s. We would never have had any sort of video games or interactivity ever if it didn't.

Binary digital computers are just about getting to its maximum capabilities. Moore's Law is pretty much at an end. Which is why servers are becoming larger, increasingly more expensive, and energy-intensive. Instead of being able to cram more and smaller transistors onto circuit boards, they now have to cram more circuit boards into ever-increasingly larger spaces to house it all.

The only advancement left in the computer world, are quantum computers. At that point, Moore's Law would start back up again, but at an even faster rate than every 2 years. There may come a time where AI will come "awake" and actually become a qualified specialist in every field of endeavor, but it sure as ◊◊◊◊ isn't with our current binary-based circuitry. It will always rely on whatever garbage is fed into it, unless properly peer-reviewed by actual experts.
