I am not saying Wamart is some sort of anti-Trump resistance group... But I doubt their "price reduction" claims was necessarily a pro-trump strategy.

I think it was more a case of them wanting to put their own prices out there in hopes of attracting customers. (I mean, even if they didn't want Trump in the white house, announcing "things are more expensive this year" is likely to hurt business.) So they fudge the numbers by changing what they claimed was part of a "thanksgiving meal".

Yeah, its basically an analysis of the "what the market will bear".

I have asked the DOJ to immediately begin an investigation into the Meat Packing Companies who are driving up the price of Beef through Illicit Collusion, Price Fixing, and Price Manipulation. We will always protect our American Ranchers, and they are being blamed for what is being done by Majority Foreign Owned Meat Packers, who artificially inflate prices, and jeopardize the security of our Nation's food supply. Action must be taken immediately to protect Consumers, combat Illegal Monopolies, and ensure these Corporations are not criminally profiting at the expense of the American People. During the big egg shortage several months back, we discovered that Costco was a reliable source of inexpensive-ish eggs, as long as you got there early before they got cleaned out. During that time, we saw Safeway (another major grocery chain) employees coming in and buying cartsful of eggs. We imagine that the eggs were brought back to various Safeway stores and repackaged in Safeway cartons, generally at a huge markup, so non-Costco members could pay Safeway for a dozen eggs the price Safeway was buying five dozen from Costco.
