Trump's Second Term

The really sad thing about the disgusting behaviour of the Trump administration every single day (which would see governments fall every single day in functioning democracies) is that young people will come to believe that Trump’s behaviour is normal.

The USA is ◊◊◊◊◊◊ well into the future. Sadly.

It also encourages the attitude that (even if it isn't 'normal' as such), why bother doing anything for the greater good when those at the top are only out for themselves, especially once a big spoon of 'both sides are the same' has been mixed in. I see it in the UK after the last Tory givernments, Johnson in particular.

What continues to baffle me are the people at these events. Like some of the people in the linked video at the American Business Forum in Miami. trump is 'dancing' and many in the crowd are cheering excitedly, taking photos with their phones. ??? Of trump? What, he's 'cool,' he's 'awesome?' They're truly excited to be in his presence? What are they seeing that the rest of us don't? Most people I know consider trump to be, at best, nothing. A jerk, a chronic liar, mentally disordered. Viscous and vindictive. In short, a really lousy person.

Yet a seemingly normal businesswoman at the convention shrieked to friends, "OMG! He's awesome!"

What the actual hell? :boggled:

The madness of crowds.

Edit: Plus this is a hand picked crowd of MAGAts.

Its even weirder to think that these are not some un-educated rednecks living in the back woods. (The "I voted for Trump because I like to eat lead paint chips" crowd.) These are business people.... you would figure that (on average) they probably have more education, and are more familiar with issues like international trade, so they can see what Trump's tariffs are doing, how prices are actually rising, etc.
There are an awful lot of business owners in middle Amrica who have no education and very little training beyond what daddy gave them before inheriting the family business. There are an awful lot of white people who are the big fishes in very small ponds, solely because their families always were.

I don't think that's accurate. If it was a hand picked crowd of MAGAts it wouldn't have been baffling, would it? From the official Miami/Miami Beach website:

Global leaders, cultural figures and innovators converge in Miami for a two-day forum that brings together voices shaping business, entertainment and technology on a worldwide scale. The America Business Forum takes place November 5–6, at the Kaseya Center, marking the first time the event is held in the United States. Nearly 30,000 attendees are expected alongside a global livestream audience. Featured speakers include Lionel Messi, Will Smith, Rafael Nadal, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali, Citadel founder Ken Griffin and WeWork founder Adam Neumann. Known for its international reach, the forum highlights bold ideas and transformative perspectives through keynote talks and conversations with leaders across industries. Positioned at the intersection of culture and commerce, it offers a platform where business strategy, sport and creative vision meet. Miami/Miami Beach website link

Undoubtedly a good number of Republicans there, but nonetheless, serious business people.

the leading cutting edge speakers they're gathering to listen to are a bunch of sports guys and the founder of wework, which was one of those gig work disruptive but ultimately failed business model and went bankrupt. ken griffin appears to be the only serious business guy speaking

Yeah, but I would guess it is somewhat the same when scientist still believe in god or that the earth is 6000 years old, despite their knowledge. In the end humans are just very emotional animals. Our abilities for objectivity, reason and logic came in addition to our animal emotions. We like to see us as some sort of Spock from Star Trek, but we aren't.

WHAT ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ WARS??? THE IMAGINARY WARS BETWEEN ANTIFA AND ANTIGUA IN YOUR ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ SKULL FULL OF COBWEBS AND SEWAGE??? Plus Neumann almost definitely committed criminalfraud with wework. There were too many financial irregularities that only benefitted him and his partner.
