Kash Patel just now, bragging about the kilograms of fentanyl seized and all that. The seven or so charts spread around the Oval office PROVE that the arrests and round up of weapons and criminals is....is...at least 6000% more than Biden did in 4 years!

For what it's worth, even that claim was likely false and part of the general evolution of the flailing about to figure out how to create a more acceptable narrative than the brutally terrible reality for Republican pretenses. Their guy literally getting caught redhanded stealing nuclear secrets pretty well utterly destroyed various pretenses of theirs even then. That they voted for him even after that just cemented how transparently false any and all pretenses that they care about things like national security are.

Trump’s Hollow ‘Empty Folders’ Defense

It’s true that in a court-approved search of Mar-a-Lago on Aug. 8, FBI agents seized several dozen empty folders marked as having once contained “classified” material. According to an inventory of items the FBI seized that day, which the Department of Justice released on Sept. 2, there were 48 “empty” folders marked as having once contained “classified” material, including 43 from Trump’s office. The search also turned up 42 empty folders marked as “Return to Staff Secretary/Military Aide,” including 28 in Trump’s office.

However, the Department of Justice noted that it also took possession of 18 government documents marked as top secret, 53 marked as secret and 30 marked as confidential. That’s a total of 101 classified documents. The DOJ didn’t say how many pages were in each document.

Those are just the classified documents that were seized by government agents during the search of Mar-a-Lago in August. Trump’s legal team has turned over classified documents on at least three other occasions.

A bunch of folders, empty and not empty, were found on the premises. I strongly distrust any claims that the empty ones were originally empty, of course, especially given Trump's behavior.
