I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but I absolutely believe that Stephen Miller is showing Trump AI videos of Portland on fire.Trump is a vapid, selfish person only in it for personal gain, but he’s also a mentally declining elderly person being propped up and influenced by the evil sycophants around him. It’s the ‘elder abuse’ they claimed was happening with Biden and it’s enough to make you feel crazy.

To be fair, as a member of the Venezuelan opposition Machado is nothing more than a fasco-mafia goon. Their goal is not to replace Maduro's dictatorship with democracy bit with their own dictatorship as abject vassal of the US far-right.

When Noem says that, it's pretty clearly not her saying what she believes, though? Rather, it's better described as an attempt at Vranyo. She knows she's lying brazenly. We know she's lying brazenly. So long as she doesn't receive notable pushback, though, she "wins." This is fine when it's inconsequential humor, of course, but this is not really either inconsequential or humor.

This isn't a matter of stupidity, it's more a matter of demanding that what they say goes, even when it directly contradicts reality. It's an attempt to commit authoritarian bullying to the core.

Meh. This statement irks me a little bit. It's true enough to work just fine for the current situation, but doesn't apply in all situations. Republican propagandists are trying to falsely assert that the reality of our present moment is one of those situations where it doesn't really apply - where antifa doesn't actually stand for anti-fascist. It's not an assertion being made in good faith, yes, but it is entirely conceivable that the ill intentioned can work to subvert any label or organization to represent and work to do the opposite of their official/original purpose.

The Netherlands, France and Ukraine also appeased the nazis and got utterly destroyed by them. The only reason that Denmark wasn't destroyed was because after Sweden smuggled out all the jews you had nothing of value to the nazis.

One thing modern fascists will do even more assiduously than denying their fascism is attacking anti fascist organisations. It's very much an admission of guilt trying to paint a non-violent movement like antifa as terroristic.

It seems you need a history lesson here, but it would be too much of a side track. Suffice to say that none of those gave up resistance after a few hours, and Denmark had considerable value to the Germans. We can take it up in a new thread if you are interested here.

There have been various articles dealing with it in recent issue of Skeptical Inquirer. Basically, pseudoscientific, profit-driven, con artist woo that's vaguely related to health.
For example, a product claiming to "promote healing and stimulate wellness".

Meanwhile, media outlets such as The Daily Beast have picked up the report that UPS is explicitly “disposing” of parcels that can’t clear customs, confirming that the practice is happening and being acknowledged internally.

To put it in perspective: UPS processed over 3 million international parcels per day before this change. If even 5% now face complications, that’s 150,000 packages daily just at UPS. Across all carriers, the daily backlog likely numbers in the hundreds of thousands. If only a small fraction of those are destroyed, that still means thousands of parcels vanish permanently.


To many Americans, this might look like a shipping nuisance or a surprise extra bill. But for small importers, boutique sellers, or buyers of niche goods overseas, it’s a barrier to participation in global commerce. Overnight, the risk of delay, surprise costs, or total loss has increased drastically.


It’s also a test of federal capacity. U.S. Customs and Border Protection was never built to handle millions of small entries daily. The burden of compliance has shifted onto consumers and small businesses, with little transparency or recourse.


Politically, the move is sold as closing a “loophole” used to evade tariffs or smuggle contraband. But the collateral damage, lost property, disrupted trade, stifled access, is widespread. This shift quietly reshapes who can buy and sell across borders.
