Trump's Second Term

Donald loves his gold, he's bragging about it to foreign leaders.

Trump to Carney: "You see the new and improved Oval Office. As it becomes more and more beautiful with love and 24 karat gold. That always helps too."

But it’s the other government employees that are partying on the tax payers money that is the problem….

What things, exactly? JFC, hold this ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊'s feet to the fire and ask him to explain. Ask him to detail what things he's talking about; ask him to explain his vast knowledge of unfair trade imbalances and how his tariffs will fix it.
Yeah, which idiot signed the last trade agreement with Canada and Mexico?

He’ll just say the interviewer is being nasty, that’s it’s a very nasty, really nasty interview and no one knows who they are…

I don't think he was ever in touch with reality.
I sort of believe this literally. He's always lived a life of luxury, so I gather he has little if any idea how most of America lives. But ever since he pivoted his business to simply selling his name and playing the role of a successful businessman on a reality TV show, I really don't think he considers any other form of reality. He lives in a world that is presented to him on the television, and he presents himself either on television or in detached, impersonal forums such as rallies.

We already discussed how his style and taste is more or less stuck in the 1980s, and his grasp of American business and culture—if it can be said to exist at all—reflects what was generally true in the 1980s. Since he lies as habitually as he breathes, it's hard to know what he actually knows or believes.

Bessent says that little girls who are sad about having fewer dolls should just have it explained to them that they will have a better life for it

Bessent: “In game theory it’s called strategic uncertainty. Nobody does it better than President Trump.”

Trump: "I could announce 50 to 100 deals right now because I'm the shopkeeper and I keep the store. I know what countries are looking for and I know what we're looking for and I can just set those terms and they can go shopping or they don't have to go shopping, because everybody wants to shop here."

Trump on Letitia James: "She's a disaster for New York. She's a horrible, horrible human being. And I think she's a total crook. There's no question about it. But that's just my opinion. Pam is gonna have to do what she wants. She's a very bad person ... she's a sick person."

Finger on the pulse

REPORTER: Russia has been banned from playing in the World Cup. What's your position?

TRUMP: I didn't know that. Is that right?

Trump on Russia being removed from the G8: "It was headed by Trudeau, by the way, and Obama. They were the ones that really fought hard to get Russia out. Because of that, maybe, millions of people are dying."

I agree, I've said for a while that he isn't a liar in the usual sense, he just doesn't have any concept of what he says not being right. He's like a five year old on "Children Say The Funniest Things", they're not lying per sey, just convinced by making up a story that fits their limited knowledge.
