Trump's Second Term

Trump stooge praises Vlad's judicial system.

I tell you, Trump's planning to take down the US judicial system.

Witkoff: "Mark also gave credit to President Putin. And I think for all the right reasons. There's a judicial system there, it works in a certain way, but at the end of the day none of this happens without President Putin and President Trump together ... he commended President Putin and I commend him as well.

the instructions by the DOJ to the SDNY to drop the Eric Adams case - for now - pretty much spells out that the prosecutors could pick up the case again if Adams doesn't win his election and drops the Sanctuary City status of NY.
This DOJ is in the market for corrupt quid-pro-quos; just wait for all the new cases that "might" be dropped if the target will do what Trump wants.

This is also fascism 101, total misuse of the legal system, total disregard for the Rule of Law.

Watched the news conference in the Whithe House.
I get the impressiion that Musk might be being set up as the fall guy.
I did not quite get that feeling, but it may well be the result. Trump was not happy sitting there. He looked as unpresidential as he could. He can't stand that.

trump is way too scared of Musk - as is the ADL, Israel, most if not all Media Outlets and plenty of countries, including Ukraine.
Maybe letting an individual accumulate that much power is not something you can let happen if you want to live in a Democracy.

Someone should remind Trump he could shoot Musk right there, live on television, and couldn't be charged with anything for doing it. What's the point in gathering dictatorial above-the-law power if you're not going to use it?

Well, that's one reason to seek out corruption. To make the offer, 'Be corrupt for me... or else!'.
Knowing of corruption can also be a good bargaining chip weapon for extortion. "Do as I tell you or go to prison for corruption". The russians do it all the time, paying police and public servants so little they basically have to resort to bribes and corruption, so that the states can lock them up for said corruption if they run afoul of The Party. I can see Dump starting to do that, he's probably taken a lot of pages out of putin's playbook.

As of the close of the day on February 11, my positive/negative score on the Trump administration stands at -105.

I added two new -1 items to February 10:
-1: Headline: Justice Department orders charges against NYC Mayor Eric Adams dismissed (NBC.com)
-1: Executive Order: Ending Procurement and Forced Use of Paper Straws (-1 for attack on environmental protections)

I added a new -1 item to February 7:
-1: Directive to cap indirect [facilities and administrative] costs of medical research at 15% when giving grants

I re-scored the 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum to -2 (illegal) because it's in violation of the Canada/US/Mexico free trade agreement.

Now Donald is joining in against Judges.

Not long now...

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump

DOGE has found massive amounts of FRAUD, WASTE, INCOMPETENCE, AND ABUSE, but even knowing this, a highly political, activist Judge wants us to immediately make payment, anyway. In other words pay, even though you know the payment was fraudulently requested to be made. DOGE caught them - The Judge just doesn't care. It doesn't make sense!!!

Putin is once again running rings around trump.
US president Donald Trump has said in a social media post that he had a “lengthy and highly productive phone call” with Russian president Vladimir Putin earlier today and agreed to start “negotiations” on a peace deal for Ukraine “immediately.”

Trump said the leaders spoke about “Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the power of the dollar, and various other subjects,” including that the US and Russia “fought so successfully together in the second world war”.

In a series of comments likely to alarm European and Ukrainian leaders, he said that they “talked about the strengths of our respective nations, and the great benefit that we will someday have in working together,” as the two agreed to “work together very closely, including visiting each other’s nations.”
From The Guardian's running commentary on European affairs.

Edit: The above should be placed in context of the US far right extremist Secretary of Defense announcing that the US will no longer prioritise the security of Europe, that Ukraine should forget about reverting to pre-2014 borders, and that the US will block Ukraine from joining NATO.

Donald fromhis call with Putin
"But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine. President Putin even used my very strong Campaign motto of, "COMMON SENSE." We both believe very strongly in it. We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other's Nations. We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskyy, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation"

1. Trump does not want democracy.

2. Trump could put Musk in front of a firing squad and would never suffer any consequences.

no, he can't because he doesn't have the guts. He can't even fire someone because he is too scared about getting pushback.
