Trump's Second Term

yeah from behind the desk while trump sat there like a bitch. can’t make this stuff up.
It was truly bizarre.
And don;t think that all the jibes about President Musk are not getting under Trump's skin. Oh he denies it but you know with his ego they are.
Donnie's advisors much be tearing there hair out over the news conference. no secret many of them think Musk will eventually hurt Trump bigtime, but they are afrid to confront Trump with it.

When will Donald sack the Judges?

@ElonMusk

If the people cannot vote and have their will be decided by their elected representatives, by the form of the President, the Senate, and the House, then we don’t live in a democracy; we live in a bureaucracy.

If he wants to try to impeach the federal judges good luck. You need 2/3 of the Senate to convict.

The killer for me is everything Musk is actually doing as far as cutting goverment goes Trump could have gotten from the congress through the usual budget legislation.
This is not about cutting waste it is about a power grab pure and simple.

Elon is after paper records and archives now.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think there is room for improvement here

Federal employee retirements are processed using paper, by hand, in an old limestone mine in Pennsylvania. 700+ mine workers operate 230 feet underground to process ~10,000 applications per month, which are stored in manila envelopes and cardboard boxes. The retirement process takes multiple months.

Here is a long article from last October mainly about the Republican response to the Covid-19 pandemic that covers a good deal of Trump's 2020 response. Perhaps it helps to explain aspects of Trump's second term. "What has been happening lately in the HSSCP with the targeting of scientists should be viewed as a preview of how expertise would be treated under a second Trump administration — and a grave warning for the nation."

Given his love of pseudoscience and conspiracies, I'm surprised Trump hasn't insisted on them adding "The Bermuda Triangle" yet...

*sigh*

In a new layer, the order, according to a fact sheet on the document provided by the White House, will force agencies to hire only one new employee in non-exempted roles for every four who leave. That requirement will lead to significant attrition across the government and is likely to severely hamper agencies’ ability to meet key parts of their mission. Under the order, only hiring for “essential positions” will be allowed and must be approved by a DOGE team member.

If I were Newsom, I'd play along with the joke and publicly say that California was mulling the offer over, and while they do, they will forthwith be withholding the taxes to the feds in preparation of changing the system to allow them to instead give it to the Danish government.

Can I ask you, and everyone in this thread, a favour? Please don't link to MSN.

It's a crappy site run by a crappy company with even crappier HTML. In fact, the entire site basically runs on JavaScript, not the web standard HTML That means non-graphical web clients like elinks and wget can't use it, and it probably doesn't work with screen readers either. It makes a mockery of good web design and practices: sort of the difference between a movie set and a real house.

The only stories I've ever seen on MSN are from other sources. Being MSN, they don't even provide a link back to the site where they stole the story from, only to the site's home page. The internet and the web should be for everyone, not just those using the most popular browsers or devices.

Even if you accept that a 19 year old with no previous experience of government has the necessary knowledge or skills to perform either of those roles acceptably (and that's a huge "if" in my opinion) then to ask them to do both is spreading them a little thin IMO.

Fair. But then again, they don't call him "Big Balls" for nothing.
