Trump's Second Term

If they have sufficient control of the House, they could just elect him Speaker (being a member of the House isn't actually a requirement) and then a Republican President and Vice President whose loyalty to him is greater than their own desire for power both resign, and he's next in the line of succession.
The Republicans could run 2 of Trump's kids. Or someone that Trump has leverage over (e.g., someone who might want a presidential pardon for some reason). I could even see that the might the possibility of a woman, perhaps Elise Stefanik, willing to elected and then resign in return for going down in history as the first female president.

Just another idiotic statement from the orange idiot. I've never met a Canadian who wants to join the US. God Almighty, the man is a moron.
Nor should Trump, or any other Republican, want the US to absorb Canada. It would likely mean an increase in Democratic senators and representatives.

Donald definitely has eyes on Canada

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year?

Makes no sense! Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!!
Uhh, Don... That says $100 million. That's roughly the amount you owe for your NYC convictions, not a national finance sized figure. Jesus you are dumber than your diaper... :sneaky:

Gallup just released a poll where somewhere around 90% of Canadians rejected the idea of joining the US. As disturbing as it is to think that there are even 10% of my countrymen who think that would be a good idea, I think having 90% of the population agree on anything these days is pretty amazing.

I suspect the other 10% said they were sorry they laughed themselves so hoarse that they couldn't answer the question.

Another Elon Xcretion. Flush it.
You should take more notice of him
Apparently he's running things now.
He's getting rid of politicians.

He says

Unless @DOGE ends the careers of deceitful, pork-barrel politicians, the waste and corruption will never stop.

Therefore, there is no choice but to do so.

I wish there was another way, but there is not.

He's the king's current favorite, but it won't last forever. Somebody will bow too deeply to Lord Muck in the king's presence, and the king will become enflamed with jealousy, and withdraw his favor.

Sadly, but predictably, BM EM is ready, willing, and certainly able to back challengers to any current officeholder who doesn't eagerly fellate his exploding rocket.

Bureaucrats? We don't need no stinking bureaucrats! Trump will be getting rid of the IRS next.

They should actually let him. Let him have what he wants, and publicly pin it to him too, good and hard.

Tens (or is it hundreds) of thousands of IRS employees hitting the breadline, plus the immediate and complete collapse of the government due to lack of treasury, should be absolutely seen and (better) felt by the MAGA faithful. When all the other handouts they rely on dry up, and the military runs out of MRE's and pay, and necessary infrastructure stops being built or repaired, all due to lack of tax funding, perhaps they might start to get the concepts of a clue.

They could also ask Musk to dip into his billions to help them out. After all, his bitcoin-based fortune is all solid gold in the bank he can get at any time. Isn't it! ;)

Unelected bureucrats tossed aside to have...unelected billionaires run the daily tasks of evil government.

"Ever seen a bigger piece of pork?" the richest man in the world wrote on X to his over 207 million followers.

Johnson continued, "They said, 'This is not directed to you, Mr. Speaker, but we don't like the spending.' I said, guess what fellas, I don't either."
Musk, in his series of Wednesday grievances against the legislation, quote-tweeted a post that read, "Johnson should be ashamed of himself. This is indefensible." He added, "This bill is terrible."
Ramaswamy also rejected the bill, writing on X Wednesday, "If Congress wants to get serious about government efficiency, they should VOTE NO."

The package was reviled by some conservatives, but many lawmakers in both parties saw it as a golden opportunity to secure long sought-after legislative priorities.

He'd simply blame it on the deep state and he, his followers and the right wing media would move on.
