Trump's Second Term

full diaper at Notre Dame.
Vance will be taking over by a year from now
I agree with Bruto.

I think this is just another carefully edited video done to spread a false rumor that people want to believe. The woman behind him is just scratching her nose and people are looking at him because of who he is.

So you agree they were looking at a bag of ◊◊◊◊! ;)

there are a lot of DOJ regulations about investigating and charging a Sitting president that we could do without ...

Whenever right-wing politicians talk about eliminating rules, and reducing bureaucracy, they want to remove safety rules. Apparently, our prosperity is dependent on having more accidents, and making more people sick.
Having people work longer hours for less money, allowing five year olds to operate dangerous machinery, allow foods to be bulked out with such lovely ingredients as arsenic, allowing the chainig of employees to their work benches, the list goes on.

Sure, what can go wrong?

Donald definitely has eyes on Canada

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

No one can answer why we subsidize Canada to the tune of over $100,000,000 a year?

Makes no sense! Many Canadians want Canada to become the 51st State. They would save massively on taxes and military protection. I think it is a great idea. 51st State!!!

Donald has no idea whatever where Canada even is. Somewhere near Hawaii? Also, Canada isn't "subsidised". It is paid for the oil, gas and manufactured goods it SELLS to the USA. That's the North American trade deal that Trump (re-)negotiated in his first term. But, of course, he forgot that.

Ah, the 100 billion is trade deficit. Another thing Trump does not understand. Article does not go into currency, but the trade has to be in someone's currency. Ideally the Chinese businessman sells to American retailers, then uses those dollars to buy stuff in US and sell it back in China. If he spends all the dollars, no deficit. Or...he keeps the dollars.
That deficit was a prominent campaign theme for former President Donald Trump in 2016, and a primary reason he launched a trade war against China after taking office. Trump argued that cutting the trade deficit would create jobs in the U.S. and strengthen the economy.4
Peterson Institute for International Economics. "Trump’s Trade War Timeline: An Up-to-Date Guide."

A strong trade surplus doesn't necessarily mean strong economic growth. Japan, for example, has run a significant trade surplus for most of the past several decades, yet its economy has been stuck in low gear most of that time.8

Columbia University, Weatherhead East Asian Institute. “Economy and Trade Fact Sheet.”
Germany, too, generally runs a strong trade surplus but registers mediocre economic growth.9

In the U.S., some periods of strong economic growth have come at times of a surging trade deficit, as consumers and businesses buy more products and services from abroad, and foreign investors seek to put their money to work in the U.S.

Evan notice the complete lack of handrails in the Empire ruled Star Wars universe?

Of course. Gotta keep those workers on their feet and working.

Hey, why not outright ban chairs for cashiers, too?

In my last two years at school (late 60s) I had a Saturday job in Woolworths. We stood between two rows of displays with a till at each end, and walked up and down serving people. Eight hours on my feet, with just lunch and a couple of short breaks when I could sit down. What puzzles me most looking back at it is why no one ever seemed to question why it was necessary for us to stand all the time.

Speaking of handrails, CNN story today suggests Trump and his pals are thinking of getting rid of the FDIC. Every time I think these people can't get stupider/crazier, they surprise me. [insert Stanley's rant about Michael Scott's ever-surprising stupidity from The Office here] Honestly, suggesting getting rid of the FDIC strikes me as so insane it actually makes me think that maybe Trump or someone/s around him are actually, literally, for-real in the pay of Russia and tasked to completely wreck the US.

I had to call one of our US based suppliers this morning and the imbecile who answered the phone says "How the weather in the 51st state?"

There were 2 other people on the phone with me at the time. This comes as I am currently considering how many layoffs we might have to make if Trump's tariffs are put in place. We have already had 2 major contracts paused until end of Q1 at least because of the chill it has put on our customers business.

I just about lost it on him. I told him in no uncertain terms that if they want our business they could do better than insulting us with moronic statements like that. Its unreal how Trump has emboldened his followers to behave like absolute garbage. They are about to find out what playing stupid games gets them. At the very least they owe us a serious apology for insulting our company and workers like that and they won't be receiving a single penny from us until we get one.
