Trump's Second Term

Trump's plan to end birthright citizenship guaranteed by the 14th Amendment means only one of his children, Tiffany, would be a citizen. Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric were all born before Ivana became a citizen and Barron was born before Melania became a citizen.
Even if it was applied retrospectively, Trump's children would be US citizens by dint of him being a citizen (if his mother was a citizen at the time of his birth, his paternal grandfather's immigration status would be irrelevant).

In any case as Darat clearly implied, the duskier the hue, the bigger the problem.
LOL.

But my question is to Trump in particular. His grandfather was an illegal German immigrant to the USA. So if the Trump Deportation rule is applied retrospectively, Trump is not a "natural born US citizen" and is therefore unqualified to hold the position of President.
If his mother was a US citizen he'd be fine.

Would have been hilarious if this ended with Dump being deported. Not that anyone would want him.

Yes, alas it would probably exceed even Mr. T's outrageous plans to include him in the list. But Melania and her family? Should have been tossed already.

IMV the issue of birthright citizenship only arises when deportation of parents is complicated by having dependent children who are US citizens as a result of being born in the US. Trump wants to be able to deport the entire family.

If one parent is legal and the other not, then maybe he'd allow the legal parent to remain in the US so long as the illegal parent can be deported. Then again, marrying an illegal immigrant may be enough to get you deported as well.

This will disproportionately impact people of a darker hue, not least because they're far more likely to be caught up in the ICE dragnet. I've said it before many times, I expect hundreds or thousands of legal US citizens to be deported by accident and then having their lives destroyed by the fallout.

The Party will likely set up a system to encourage people to report any illegals being in the country. All the Karens in the USA will be on the phone, constantly, getting neighbors visits from ICE. I'm brown, so I'm going to have my passport on me and hope that it is enough to keep me from getting deported.
I'm not too worried, however, because I'm not in a conservative area.

It would also involve a change to the constitution, but hey Trump has always reneged on contracts so why should the constitution be any different?
What would happen if Trump violated the constitution? Even if the courts ruled against him, how would the enforce their rulings? It seems to me that the only way to enforce compliance would be to impeach Trump, but that will never happen.

Exactly. SCOTUS ruled that Trump is above the law. They ruled that even gathering evidence of a crime that Trump does is not allowed.

That not how Trumpists see it. Many illegals have been in the USA long enough to have grandchildren now. And they have married US citizens as well. Yet the whole family tree, kids and all, faces deportation including the people they married. The message is: if you want to stay married to an illegal, you have to be deported with them. The "identifier" used for illegals will indeed be colour.

This is highly relative to mixed German Jewish families in the 1930s.

It only applies to dusky people though - Trump would be fine because he's ethnically white (though currently orange).

Sure! But it would be hilarious if the Deportation Gestapo were publicly given his family to "review". Because if he is immune then that gives legal grounds for thousands of other families of illegals. The whole thing becomes a farce.

Nonsense, he it too German to be properly white. They are a swarthy people after all, just ask Ben Franklin.

"Which leads me to add one Remark: That the Number of purely white People in the World is proportionably very small. All Africa is black or tawny. Asia chiefly tawny. America (exclusive of the new Comers) wholly so. And in Europe, the Spaniards, Italians, French, Russians and Swedes, are generally of what we call a swarthy Complexion; as are the Germans also, the Saxons only excepted, who with the English, make the principal Body of White People on the Face of the Earth." Ben Franklin

So by the standards of our founding fathers Trump isn't white and thus not a real american.

White Supremacists don't care about actual facts when it comes to "whiteness." Their definition of "white" is fungible.

The nuance of who is white or isn't won't come back into fashion until all the brown people are subjugated again.

Is it just me or is he going backwards on his upcoming oh-so-amazing healthcare plan? In his first term, the AHCA (ie. 'trumpcare') fizzled after McCain voted against it. Then he announced that he had a plan and would reveal it 'in two week's, so it never surfaced. And now in the NBC interview, he's down to having "concepts of a plan".

Promises for the future are easy. You never have to do anything real, just keep kicking the can. Blame the opposition, the obstructionists, the wreckers, for slowing the process. It's a time honored tradition, and I'm sure our fearless leader has, if not studied it, at least heard someone mention it, maybe Norman Vincent Peale. I think it was archy the cockroach who noted that you can't get a millennium by stringing a bunch of five year plans together, but who reads these days?
