Trump is making mutterings about not imposing tariffs on Mexico after claiming he got the Mexican President to close the border. The Mexican President tells completely different story (after chewing him an owning his ass in a public statement) of course but Trump always thinks he looks tough when he lies.

He is once again going to inherit a growing economy and will jump in front of the parade and pretend he is leading it.

I suspect it's simply people without a sense of humor attempting to simulate having a sense of humor.

My own prediction (not based anything but pure speculation):

At his State of the Union Address in February, Trump will invite one specific group to sit in the gallery as his guests:

Felons released from prison on pardons from Trump for the crimes they committed during the Jan. 6 insurrection. They will literally return to the scene of their crime, to be protected by the Capitol police.

MAGA is claiming that the tariff threat has forced Mexico to stop migrant caravans. It's a complete lie, but there it is. I believe this is a Trump excuse to not impose tariffs, by declaring victory. President of Mexico made no such announcement about caravans.
