US Attorney Habba? yes, that Habba, Alina Habba, one of trump's (many) former defense lawyers. Habba was trump's counsel in the E. Jean Carroll defamation lawsuit. The one trump lost, with Carroll being awarded an $83.3 million judgement. That led to trump dropping Habba and seeking a new attorney. That surprised no one in the legal field, As Elie Honig, CNN legal analyst, said at the time:
"The downside is Habba doesn't know what she's doing in the courtroom." Honig went on to argue that Habba "can't even do things that you learn in evidence class" like move exhibits into evidence and uphold the rules of hearsay, citing the court transcript. Salon article link

Now she's back. In late March trump named her US Attorney for New Jersey. My former Boss was right. You can't make this stuff up. :eye-poppi

Wow, I did not know she was still hanging around Trump.

Apparently it is unknown how long she will be in the job. She is currently in an 'acting' role (which she can only hold for 4 months.)

As interim U.S. Attorney, Habba will be able to stay in the job for 120 days, a stay that could be extended if a majority of New Jersey’s 17 federal district court judges vote to authorize it. As was the case with Giordano, it’s not immediately clear whether Habba is a candidate for a full term as U.S. Attorney, which would require Senate confirmation.

I do have to wonder if any GOP senators will have the backbone to block her if Stubby McBonespurs tries to make her position permanent.
