Trump's Second Term

Trump says in his Turning Point speech

"Elon Musk is not going to be president. That I can tell you. I’m safe. You know why? He can’t be. He wasn’t born in this country"
I don't think that would deter Repugnicans from trying to get him in there anyway, if they really wanted to.

I can't help wonder if Trump rage posted and deleted. He's going to be unable to get Musk off his mind. Where did you get that post from?

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump

Let me clear something up right now: I am the President-elect of the United States. Not Elon Musk. Not anyone else. I know the media (the FAKE NEWS) and even some of you out there keep saying things like "Elon's really running the show," but let me tell you-this is MY vision, MY leadership, and MY America we're talking about. Now, I'll admit it, Elon was helpful during the campaign. He donated a lot of money- HUGE sums. And I appreciated it, I really did. But lately, it feels like he's forgotten one thing: I'M the guy in charge. Not him. Sure, he's great at rockets, cars, maybe even X (well, sort of), but politics? That's MY game, folks. The constant confusion, people joking about him being "President" while I'm just the Vice President? NO. Wrong. Totally wrong. It's a distraction, and frankly, it's disrespectful. This is about the American people, not about Elon Musk's ego. So, Elon, I'll say this: thank you for the support, but it's time for you to stay in your lane. I'm focused on making this country greater than ever before. The world will see who's in charge on January 20th. MAGA!
For someone who's ego is not bothered by Musk getting so much attention, he certainly goes to great lengths to reassure who the head dictator is.
"MY America"?

Trump has nominated Aaron Reitz to lead the DOJ's Office of Legal Policy. Trump wrote that Reitz will "develop and implement DOJ’s battle plans to advance my Law and Order Agenda, and restore integrity to our Justice System.

He also named Chad Mizelle as the next chief of staff at the DOJ.
But it was Biden who weaponized the DOJ, right?

STFU, felon.

Dumb Donald wants to revert Denali to Mt. McKinley again. Why? Because Obama restored Denali's original native name and McKinley made a lot of money which makes him "great":
Trump, who spoke in Phoenix on the final day of AmericaFest, an annual convention put on by Turning Point USA, told his supporters that McKinley should have his name restored on the tallest mountain in the U.S. because he was a "great president" who "deserves it."

"McKinley was a very good, maybe a great president. They took his name off Mount McKinley. That's what they do to people. President McKinley was the president that was responsible for creating a vast sum of money. That's one of the reasons that we're going to bring back the name of Mount McKinley, because I think he deserves it," the president-elect said.
During his first term, Trump had asked Alaska's two Republican senators in a private meeting in March 2017 if they wanted to reverse Obama's decision, according to CNN. However, the senators, Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, told Trump to keep Denali's name intact.

Sullivan said in October 2017: "He looked at me and said, 'I heard that the big mountain in Alaska also had—also its name was changed by executive action. Do you want us to reverse that?' Lisa—Sen. Murkowski—and I jumped over the desk. We said 'no, no! The Alaska Native people named that mountain over 10,000 years ago.' Denali, that was the name."
The "big mountain"? Sounds to me he had no clue what the "big mountain" was named. Moron.
Interestingly, Biden places 14 and Trump dead last in the latest rankings:
The 2024 edition of the Presidential Greatness Project Expert Survey has Biden in 14th place, just ahead of Woodrow Wilson and Ronald Reagan. Trump comes in 45th, behind fellow impeachee Andrew Johnson and James Buchanan, the perennial cellar-dweller in such ratings due to his pre-Civil War leadership.

Not a hill worth dying on (ha!)

All they need to do is identify another mountain, preferably one with no name, or which the Alaska Natives are happy to have renamed, and let Trumpy name that Mt McKinley. He won't go there to see it, or even be able to identify it in a line-up. He'll be happy and everyone else can concentrate on stopping other stupidities.

Musk is reportedly under investigation for failing to disclose meetings with foreign leaders including Putin.
Elon Musk and SpaceX are currently under scrutiny by three US military departments, as reported by The New York Times. The investigations focus on Musk and SpaceX's alleged failure to disclose meetings with foreign leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, since 2021.

The reviews were initiated by the Defense Department’s Office of Inspector General, the U.S. Air Force, and the Pentagon’s Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security. Concerns have been raised over Musk's adherence to security protocols, as he holds top-security clearance at SpaceX, granting him access to classified U.S. military information. He is required to disclose details regarding his personal life, travel plans, and certain behaviours.

Depressive read

To sum it up, they thought he would be a one term fluke, so felt bold enought to oppose him during the first term. Now that he's back and surrounding himself with people who are willing and able to his bidding, they're scared and want to get on his good side.

They are selfish cowards and disgust me.

Anybody else thinking Trump was specifically tasked with destroying the US economy? Threats of tariffs and now trying to get us blocked from using the Panama Canal?! How much American import/exports travel through that canal?! We're going to fly everything? Or take the Northwest Passage? (Although thanks to global warming it's more navigable than ever, but antagonizing Canada isn't going to make it a welcome alternative.) This crap he's spewing is exceptionally stupid, even for Trump. This isn't just being a bad businessman, this is the behavior of someone in charge of something trying to wreck it to collect on insurance.

Most stuff goes cross country from coast to coast by train.

Panama is more important to the USA as a route for transferring warships from eat to west.
