This time it might attract some sympathy.odd that that argument never worked for any assassin.
Yes, lots. The IRS, SEC, and GAO all employ forensic accountants.Doesn't the government have some of those...
Unknown. Except for the GAO, forensic accounts have department-specific authority. GAO accountants are the ones who should be doing what Elon Musk is pretending to do.... or have they all been given the heave-ho?
Fox & Friends Weekend host Rachel Campos-Duffy to EPA administrator Lee Zeldin: "I want my money back from these dishwashers that don't work from the Biden era. Maybe you guys can look in that. Like, do we get our money back?
Because the actual goal is to get rid of as many Federal Employees as possible, as quickly as possible, and replace them with right-wing sycophants and AI controlled by right-wing sycophants. This is so they can lock in Conservative control of the federal bureaucracy before the wrongful firing lawsuits can catch up, and the whole thing becomes a fait accompli. All that stuff about "waste, fraud, and abuse" is a smokescreen. Once you realize that, it all makes sense and is actually going disturbingly well for the Musk faction. We still wonder why an exercise ostensibly aimed at reducing fraud and fiscal waste seems to employ no forensic accountants or economists. It's all supposedly computer geniuses, who are meant to be adept at pushing the buttons but apparently have no idea what the buttons do. We're supposed to believe these kids are so smart at computers that they can do any job. Now we find out they can't even do theirs.
The next Dem POTUS is going to reverse his stupid order. We've got enough REAL problems to deal with rather than waste time on this idiocy, but he saw an opportunity to feed his idiot MAGA cultists a tidbit.Technically, the order to rename the Gulf only extends to the continental shelf of the US, not actually into the middle of the Gulf.
Google could make that clear without violating the Order - but they won't because they think it's easier to just acquiesce and wait for 4 years.
Vance and Trump are as full of **** as a septic tank.Wouldn't you know it, the speech in which the sofa king complained about EU being too obsessed with disinformation and misinformation, he was busy telling porkies.

‘Thought crime’ and cancelled elections: how do JD Vance’s claims about Europe stand up?
US vice-president told litany of tales of Europe’s rights infringements in speech to leaders at defence gatheringwww.theguardian.com
Apples and Oranges. The US has expenditure to fight an offensive war, on more than one front, overseas. Europe only needs to fight a local defensive war. post Ukraine it will take Russia time to rearm and reequip to a level that is a threat. The question under discussion was whether Europe could provide the needed level of military aid, should the US pull out. For that, absolute numbers are indeed what matter.
It does do a lot to sum it up, yeah. On a slightly different angle, it might be easiest to sum things up as - Right wing leaders sell superficial validation, while liberals sell responsibility. It's obvious which is actually better and more productive from the outside, but we all need validation, emotionally, and Right wing leaders have long worked to make people starved for validation so they'll swallow the crap quality goods they sell. As liberals have moved away (or been driven away) from the Republican party, the effects of that have continued to become more pronounced. This almost deserves its own thread, but
Honestly? Too soon to tell, for a few reasons. One of the notable ones is whether there will actually be enough pressure put on them to overcome the usual upholding the continuity of government. Democrats tend to try to uphold even the dumbass ◊◊◊◊ that Republicans pull that they don't like, absent compelling force to fix it. That's both a good thing and a frustrating thing at the same time, of course. The next Dem POTUS is going to reverse his stupid order. The Gulf renaming is annoying, but I suspect it's intended to be; there are bigger things to worry about, such as whether there will a chance of fair elections again in the foreseeable future. The next Dem POTUS is going to reverse his stupid order. Nah, not much of a god complex there!Donald says he is above the law apparently
I wouldn't bet on it. Biden reversed surprisingly few Trump decisions. The one I think he should have done (and Ok he did at the last moment) was the embargo on Cuba for the secret energy weapon attacks. Also labelling Cuba a terrorists state. Cuba is not a terrorist state in any functional system sanctions on cuba for this would have been withdrawn. I realise that avoiding alienating the ex-Cuban vote was thought more important than doing the right thing; but that turned out pointless. Biden should also have reinstated the nuclear weapon limitation treaty with Iran. The next Dem POTUS is going to reverse his stupid order. Hopefully, 2028 will answer the question.Honestly? Too soon to tell, for a few reasons. It's intended to feed his MAGA crowd and to annoy anyone else. And I agree that there are bigger things to worry about which is why his petty crap is annoying. The Gulf renaming is annoying, but I suspect it's intended to be; there are bigger things to worry about, such as whether there will a chance of fair elections again in the foreseeable future.
Surely -2 for harm to the world?+1: Executive Order: Establishing the National Energy Dominance Council (+1 for benefit to USA)
Direct them to Muskrat. I'm sure he has a few bucks to spare for each of them to help for a few days. He's VERY rich and SUCH a great guy, you see.How long till it's all smashed up? Do we need another pandemic?

Trump supporters are turning on him over job losses, Social Security cuts, and rising costs. Many still demand mass deportations, purging federal agencies, and banning trans people. Others worry about tax hikes and economic failures. Some are outraged by his treatment of veterans and federal workers. His base is fracturing over personal impact, not ethics.

Related facepalm moment:Apropos of this, DOGE has fired something like 300 employees from the NNSA. (Other sources report only 50 terminations.) CNN is reporting that DOGE was apparently unaware that this organization has primary responsibility for securing the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile. The Dept. of Energy is now hoping to rescind some of the terminations.
This is what happens when "efficiency" and the propriety of spending is being decided by unqualified, uninformed blowhards and techno-kids. "Move fast and break things" cannot possibly work when this is the actual United States and not some throwaway tech company, and there is no safety net.
