Trump's Second Term

MURDERERS, SEXUAL PREDATORS, AND ARSONISTS - this is who the far-left is defending.
The far left is defending Jonathan Ross, Jesus (Jesse) Ochoa, Raymundo Gutierrez, Kristi Noem, Todd Lyons, and Greg Bovino? News to me.

The far left is defending sexual predators Jeffrey Epstein, Donald Trump, Howard Lutnick, and Elon Musk? News to me.

Burgum suggests the Supreme Court may ultimately shut down the wind industry in America, claims "when these wind farms are operating, they create tremendous radar interference that could represent a tremendous threat, particularly off our highly populated northeast coast."

*Looks out of window*

That's why we have 2 small windfarms just over there>.

Oh, what's that other thing that's noticeable round here? Ah, yes, we are on an oft used training run for the RAF (they line up Coquet Island, the remains of the Lynemouth power station, leave our church in the middle, then hammer over us on their way over to Otterburn). No probs with radar, and that was looked at during planning...

The audience reaction is meaningless, given that only MAGA groupies are watching the movie (according to Axios, the opening weekend audience was 75% white, 72% female, and 72% over 55). The second positive review was from The Epoch TImes

How long will it take for the sequel to appear? Heck, I'm ready to go to work on
Meaninglessia tomorrow. So are you and many more of us scandalous
libertarioids!

Be reasonable, they haven't set fire to anything much.

Obviously flying over the windfarm is the equivalent of surviving a live fire exercise.

Some of the eejits who opposed the turbines would have had us believe that living here was slated to be like a live fire exercise (some of them didn't like me, as I used words like "nocebo" in a very dismissive tone - ask Carrot Flower Queen about my dismissive voice...).

Still alive, as is everyone else...and the sheep and buzzards and geese and deer...

That bit about Massie having "been totally disloyal to the President of the United States" illustrates what the core problem with Trump is. He just does not, and apparently cannot, get the concept that nobody in the US government owes (much less swears) "loyalty" to the President, and to him personally in that capacity. He doesn't grasp the fundamental idea of a republic being what the name says it is, a state run for and in the name of the people, and seems to really think that being President is something like being a king who is the state (or, at best, like being a CEO who is the company).
Exactly. He cannot tell the difference between Donald Trump and the POTUS.
The problem is that Trump was indeed the CEO where the CEO was the company. All of Trump's enterprises where Private companies not Public companies. He never had to deal with a Stockholders or a Board of directors.

I was active in the anti-war movement of the 1960’s. As such, I usually saw the police in a very poor light, as a step towards a “police state”.

But on 9/11, I happened to be in Athens, Greece. The whole situation was fluid and uncertain globally. The Greek people were very supportive, and they were flying their flag at half-staff.

But security was high, especially around the American Embassy. Out and about, seeing police on almost every street corner, usually with machine guns, actually made me feel more secure, not threatened.

NOT saying that having the military on the streets of our capital is justified, nor does it make “the place look better”. It’s totally uncalled for and ominous. Just saying that one’s perception can change, depending on context.
Trump is ripping Posse Comitatus apart. IMHO that goes against everything classic American Conservatism stands for,
