Trump's Second Term

🚨 NOW: North Carolina’s Democrat Governor THREW IN THE TOWEL during tonight’s winter storm, ABANDONING residents, and leaving rescues up to private citizens

I pulled out 14 stranded motorists before my Tahoe became disabled, and I never saw a SINGLE first responder.

Shameful, but predictable.

1) Thank you for helping, Nick.
2) There is too little context to take your exhortation as anything other than fallacy in this instance. In the larger picture, though, Republicans have largely been the party responsible for working to cut budgets for nigh all public survices, impacting state's abilities to respond to crises like that, so your complaint is generally wrongheaded.

JUST IN: First Lady Melania Trump's documentary has stunned Hollywood and the entertainment world. The documentary opened with a projected $8.1 million in weekend ticket sales. And it coudl exceed $9 million.

If you're the sort of person who likes this sort of thing, then this is the sort of thing you'll like.

Among those who have seen the movie, 99% like it:
Now, the Rotten Tomatoes critics' score has dropped to 6%, while the audience score is in the polar opposite direction with a near-perfect 99%.
The critics' score has gone up to 11%, which means a second critic has written a positive review.

Beyond the divisive response between critics and general audiences, there is the question of how Melania's box office will perform. It is projected to finish the opening weekend with $8.1 million, the best box office debut for a documentary in the past 10 years. However, between the reported $40 million budget and the $35 million Amazon spent on global marketing, the film has a long and difficult road ahead in order to become profitable.
I doubt whether Jeff Bezos ever expected to make money from the ticket sales. His investment might pay off in less direct ways.
Amazon, along with the film’s director, Brett Ratner, have rejected suggestions that the studio bought and promoted the film to curry favor with the administration. [....]

Asked at the event if the Amazon film deal was to curry favor with him and the White House, Trump said that was fake news. “I'm not involved, and it was done with my wife.”
And everyone knows his wife has nothing to do with him.

Melania was forced into some 1778 to 2000 theaters in the USA, which means if their figures are right it earned $5000 per theater. The opening weekend figure may also include international theaters which is another 1,600 theaters, bringing the total per theater to $2745 or so.

Somehow "stunned" is not the word I'd use.

BREAKING: Gen-Z girls are now flooding movie theaters in groups to watch First Lady Melania Trump’s hit new movie “MELANIA.”

This is incredible.

It’s about time girls have a role model truly worthy of looking up to.

That's a small group of five girls in an otherwise empty theatre, and no evidence that they're watching Melanoma: The Movie.

Where are you holding those people hostage, Nick?

like anybody would believe a craven coward like Sortor would go out in mildly bad weather, never mind a storm.

Not quite correct, among those who have an IMDB, 99% of those bothered to rate the film say they like it. It's the same tactic far right christer congregations engage in with the likes of the god's Not Dead films, inflate the score by giving it an automatic ten even when you didn't see it (or more when you did see it and hated it).

FYI… The NAZl’s were LEFTWING

So...

Socialism - A) Nazis - in name, only superficially in practice. B) Socialism - Actual practice.
No guns - A) Nazis - No guns for disfavored minorities, little restriction for those aligned with them. Pretty much exactly in line with MAGA sensibilities. B) Socialism - Not intrinsic to socialism. Most US socialists aren't "no guns" people, though, so much as "gun safety" people. It's specifically because of how extremely irresponsible and disingenuous the far right has been that there's the backlash on guns that there is.
Censorship - A) Nazis - See Republican efforts. B) Socialism - Not really intrinsic, but limited, reasonable censorship to limit harm done by actual bad actors (child abuse porn is bad, malicious lies and slander are bad) is generally favored.
Media mind control - A) Nazis - See Republican efforts. B) Socialism - Just no. Totalitarianism masquerading as socialism likely has that as a feature, but that's a totalitarianism thing, not a socialism thing.
Abortion - A) Nazis - Abortion was banned for desireables and enforced upon undesireables. Republicans, especially MAGA, are not far from that at all. B) Socialism - Not intrinsic to socialism. In the US, socialists generally are in favor of women's choice with limited restrictions, though, not least because that approach seems to be the most healthy for society as a whole.
Hate Jews - Nazis - Yup. Antisemitism something that exists across the political spectrum. MAGA, in particular, spreads antisemitic conspiracy theories that are largely rehashes of Nazi conspiracy theories, though. Where anti-Jew attitudes exist on the left, there's generally more emphasis on being opposed to Israel, an oppressive right-wing dominated political entity, than Jews, though actual antisemitism certainly exists on the left and among US socialists, too. Hating Whites is worthy of little more than an eye-roll, though, especially when coming as an accusation from groups that actually do revolve around hatred of arbitrary other groups, as MAGA does.
Worship the Government - A) Nazis - See Republicans, especially MAGA. B) Socialism - "Worship" is utterly wrong. Government is a powerful tool that is best used to benefit all of society, but the nature of that tool means that concepts like "faith" and "worship" are terrible when the goal is using it to benefit all of society.

Should also be noted that a few years ago Rotten Tomatoes implemented a policy where you had to have bought a ticket to rate a movie, so I suspect all these audience scores are based on those who actually bought tickets, or who had tickets bought for them, so yes the audience reviews can have little to do with the merits of the movie. If there wasn't such a policy I would expect the audience score to somehow achieve negative numbers..

Blanche: But if you're going to work in this department, you are going to execute on the president's priorities.

Stephanopoulos: You just actually made my point right there. You said it's the president's priorities. The president calls for them publicly to be prosecuted and then they're prosecuted.

Blanche: That's not the president's priorities. That's a truth that he sent out

REPORTER: Are you ready to go to war with Chicago?

TRUMP: When you say that, darling, that's fake news. Listen. Be QUIET. Listen. You don't listen, you never listen. That's why you're second rate. We're not going to war...we're gonna clean cities up so they don't kill 5 people every weekend. That's not war - that's COMMON SENSE.

I'm not on the ballot

Q: In Texas, a Democrat won a special election in an area you won by 17 points. What is your reaction?

TRUMP: I don't know. I didn't hear about it. Somebody ran -- where?

Q: In Texas

TRUMP: I'm not involved in that. That's a local Texas race. You mean I won by 17, and this person lost? Things like that happen. I'm not on the ballot
