I think he is deliberately delivering these displays of complete amorality as part of securing his power.
It tests his lackeys loyalty.
If they go along with it they are showing they will put up with anything.
If they object they are an enemy and removed.
It shows everyone else they are powerless to stop him and he can do whatever he wants.

The number two prosecutor in the US attorney’s office for the eastern district of Virginia has been fired, according to two people familiar with the matter, the latest in a series of dismissals in an office that is leading controversial criminal prosecutions of James Comey and Letitia James.

Robert McBride, a former federal prosecutor in Kentucky, was brought in late last year to serve as the deputy to Lindsey Halligan, a Trump ally who the president installed as the acting US attorney for the eastern district of Virginia in September. McBride was dismissed after declining to lead the Comey prosecution, which a judge threw out in November after ruling Halligan was unlawfully appointed, one of the people said

Nah .. he's just like a small baby. He's trying things. Except there's nobody to slap him.

There is no evidence that there is any strategy or tactics or even the concept of a strategy or tactic behind what he does.

There was conjecture a while ago, I think when a sign was added to the outside of the Oval Office, that they're labeling the rooms in the White House to keep Trump from getting lost in his dementia-fueled wandering.

If I didn't know that was the White House, I'd have assumed it was the palace of some Middle Eastern dictator.
 
They are spending a lot of time and money to send the message that protesting is dangerous. And it sort of is, as many around the country have been injured. They are breaking car windows, pulling civilians out of cars, wrecking cars in a chase, lini ng the protestors up with zip tied hands. The only thing they are not doing is arresting protestors. They have no facility, they only house suspected illegals and people who look brown or speak with an accent.
