Trump's Second Term

The DOJ is complicit in the cover up

U.S. Department of Justice
@TheJusticeDept
The Department of Justice has officially released nearly 30,000 more pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

Some of these documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims made against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election. To be clear: the claims are unfounded and false, and if they had a shred of credibility, they certainly would have been weaponized against President Trump already.
Nevertheless, out of our commitment to the law and transparency, the DOJ is releasing these documents with the legally required protections for Epstein’s victims.

Yeah, sure. I believe the most corrupt (and inept) DoJ ever.

By "best-looking" I assume he means it will be covered stem to stern in cheesy gold ◊◊◊◊ like the Oval Office, and have 'TRUMP' in massive gold letters on each side. The giant vanity plates will certainly give the anti ship missiles something to aim for.

The good news is that with construction projected to start "in the early 2030s", Trump should be long dead before they have to actually start building this white elephant.

Maybe next he'll announce a new gigantic, intercontinental nuclear bomber, or a chain of trace italienne forts along the coastlines and inland borders.

Loosely paraphrased:

“What does a submariner call a battleship? A target.”

I would have thought that modern subs made these slow moving monsters obsolete.

I like Tom Nichols’s take on this (gift article).
To be fair, it's not *just* submarines that would render them obsolete.

There is no cannibalism in the British Navy, absolutely none. And when I say none, I mean there is a certain amount, more than I personally admit.

Someone ought to read Jean Genet's Querelle of Brest (filmed by Fassbinder as Querelle)...

I haven't seen any mention of the recent two part article on the White House staff in Vanity Fair, with photos by Christopher Anderson. The photos have been getting most of the attention (at least in my social media feed, but that may be because I am a photographer). At first sight they may appear somewhat unprofessional, including details like electric sockets with trailing wires, and close-ups of people apparently taken unawares. However, deeper analysis (and there seems to be plenty of that to choose from) indicates that this is part of Anderson's style, and also reflects on the staff themselves, as well as aspects of the way the White House is being run.

Just one viewpoint on the photos:

Peter Navarro: "In an age of AI when all the white collar jobs are going away pretty damn quick, I think maybe it's a good time for people to think about having good blue collar jobs ... give tariffs a chance, because they're working"
Once again: the point of all of this [waves arms] is to create one class of superwealthy oligarchs who own 99.99999999% of all the wealth and control 100% of the political power, while everyone else is either in the serf class serving them or actually dead. Because robots and AI won't compete with the overlords for resources they are preferred.

Survival of the world depends on Donald getting Greenland

Donald J. Trump
@realDonald Trump
I am pleased to announce that I am appointing the GREAT Governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, as the United States Special Envoy to Greenland. Jeff understands how essential Greenland is to our National Security, and will strongly advance our Country's Interests for the Safety, Security, and Survival of our Allies, and indeed, the World.

Congratulations Jeff!
