I recommend Stephen Fry's books Mythos, Heroes, and Troy for an excellent and easy to read comprehensive coverage of the entire corpus of Greek mythology.

And of course, the shutdown is conveniently preventing the BLS from reporting the reality.Everything is down more than everything else
Trump: Gasoline is way down. Inflation is way down. The biggest thing is inflation. The second biggest thing is energy. Energy is way down. What’s also down—gasoline. Also, the biggest thing is inflation and it’s way down.
My tank was low for the last week or so (I don't drive much), but yesterday I needed to make a longer trip and decided to fill up. But that very day gas went up 30 cents a gallon! I don't think I've ever seen a jump like that, and I have no idea for the reason why.Trump: Gasoline is way down.

Ok. So I just saw a business article that said American retailers expect the first TRILLION DOLLAR holiday shopping season this year. I did the math, but correct me if I’m wrong. They expect every single American citizen to spend an average of $3000 for Christmas this year? When we can’t afford healthcare or groceries? Are they truly this out of touch with the current reality? Is this satire?

Elon Musk, a single human being, just got a pay package that would fund the entirety of SNAP for a ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ DECADE. But sure, poor people are the problem.
Hah, I wish it was that simple. Bowser prices fluctuate practically weekly around here.Gasoline jumps and falls seasonally, if you watch it. The price will drop as winter comes to a close and the refineries need to sell off the last of the 'winter blend' of gas they have on hand before they start to manufacture the 'summer blend' of gasoline. When the summer blend starts to hit the gas stations, the price will rise, or jump, to cover the new costs of making it. As summer ends, they'll sell off the summer blend to get ready for... I think you see where it's going.
Rinse, lather, repeat.
There are always other factors that effect the price at the pump as well, of course, but in the general scheme of things, that's how it is.

Hey now, be fair: the SC only rushed to serve the king because he wants to starve the poor. If he'd come to them for something bad they'd have thought a really long time before agreeing to it.Supreme court working hard to be even more hated than Trump.
The U.S. Supreme Court temporarily granted the Trump administration's request to block full SNAP food benefits during the government shutdown, even as residents in some states had already begun receiving them.
The Trump administration is appealing a court order to fully restart the country's largest anti-hunger program. The high court decision late Friday gives a lower court time to consider a more lasting pause.
The move may add to confusion, though, since the government said it was sending states money on Friday to fully fund SNAP at the same time it appealed the order to pay for them.
I'm sure the six ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ on the SCOTUS are eating well tonight.Shortly after U.S. District Judge John McConnell Jr. issued that decision Thursday afternoon, states started to announce they'd be issuing full SNAP benefits. Some people woke up Friday with the money already on the debit-like EBT cards they use to buy groceries. The number of states kept growing, and included California, Oregon, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Connecticut among others.
The Supreme Court's decision means states must, for now, revert back to the partial payments the Trump administration had earlier instructed them to distribute. While the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit rejected the administration's request for an administrative stay, the appeals court said it would consider the request for the stay and intends to issue a decision as quickly as possible.
Bad like debt forgiveness, rule of law, or not starving the poor, that is.Hey now, be fair: the SC only rushed to serve the king because he wants to starve the poor. If he'd come to them for something bad they'd have thought a really long time before agreeing to it.
Thank you for the correction.Correction: She was at Yale when this happened. She is now at Harvard.

Those states could simply do what the Trump admin does when they get a court decision they don't like: Ignore it and carry on like it never happened.Supreme Court temporarily blocks full SNAP benefits even as they'd started to go out

How is it not understood that until the shutdown ends, there literally is not enough money to fund SNAP. The partial payments were an effort to make the money last longer. Good, grief.Supreme Court temporarily blocks full SNAP benefits even as they'd started to go out
