There is a harvard/harris poll that shows yes, 70% of people oppose the shutdown. And yes, the poll does show 65% of people think the democrats should just accept the "clean" funding resolution.

The same poll also shows: 53% blame republicans for the shutdown, 47% blame democrats.

Personally I would have thought there would be more blame directed at Trump and the republicans and less at the democrats instead of teh rather close 6% point difference. But at least the Democrats are "winning" over the issue right now. I just hope the public doesn't start to turn on the democrats if the shutdown runs longer.

Whenever a Trump bootlickers says something like that, I Always wonder:
Do they actually believe any of that?

Or do they recognize the failures of the Trump Reich but just want to but the best face on things?

A rational, intelligent person would recognize "oh, this is fallout from a trade wars Trump started", but Trump has a habit of surrounding himself with idiots.

I think we've seen enough of his roundtables of asslickers to know said asslicking is a requirement to remain in his good graces. Problem for them is that sometimes asslicking isn't enough, and he'll discard you anyway. I guess they think such embarrassing sycophancy is worth it to grift off his coat tails and perhaps get a book deal later, or perhaps a talking head job on a rwnj network.

As far as rational, intelligent persons, they are few and far between in his coterie.
