Yup, it's amazing what the mind will do to protect the ego, and most psychologist agree that it's the basis behind many of the psychoses like psychopathy, but once again, that's just my opinion.

This kind of stupidity simply ignores reality.

Somebody who requires Medicaid and who lives in New York City isn't going to be able to move clear across the country to take a minimum wage job picking farm produce - even if they were physically capable of it and had the requisite skills (that's right Republicans, done properly agricultural work isn't unskilled).

It's seasonal work. Surely they just go up to the country for the season then come back to their town house when the harvest is in? Couldn't Musk provide robotaxis or something? Oh, wait, scratch that. Anyway I'm sure it will be fine. People are quite resourceful. Especially when they get hungry.

Why not march them overland to where the work is? Clean healthy living in the fresh air, plenty of exercise to get them fit for work. The opportunity to control their diet en route for maximum profit healthiness (MAHA!). Throw in some chains, whips and overseers and it could act as a traveling tourist attraction and raise funds on the way.
