That's exactly what they are supposed to do.
It's a deliberate tactic to intimidate, provoke and spread fear .

We see examples of it every day.

It's not about immigration control anymore.

At 2:19 PST, US Border Patrol agents were conducting a targeted vehicle stop in Portland, Oregon. The passenger of the vehicle and target is a Venezuelan illegal alien affiliated with the transnational Tren de Aragua prostitution ring and involved in a recent shooting in Portland. The vehicle driver is believed to be a member of the vicious Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. When agents identified themselves to the vehicle occupants, the driver weaponized his vehicle and attempted to run over the law enforcement agents.

Fearing for his life and safety, an agent fired a defensive shot. The driver drove off with the passenger, fleeing the scene.

This situation is evolving and more information is forthcoming

ICE agents aren't Disney villains. They're our neighbors, friends, and loved ones. These immigration and customs enforcement officers are red-blooded American patriots doing a tough job to keep our nation safe. Assaults against ICE are up 1,300%. I stand with @DHSgov.

So apparently Trumpians have been watching one, and probably only one video of the incident and convincing themselves that the car slammed into the officer super-hard so he had to shoot (even though that is against policy). Thing is the video is sped up x4 times, is zoomed in, and is grainy as all get-up compared to most other videos. Someone took that video and slowed it down to its normal speed as a side-by-side and it shows much less of an "impact" that what Trumpers have been claiming:
