I was trying to say something harsher than my suggestion was needed. Not that something harsher than what has been put forward in this thread was needed.

Yes, but Traitor Don is so much more.

He loves telling stories about how someone comes to him and says “Mr. President here is a problem only you can fix.” Referring to him as Don would be infuriating to him and amusing to many of his critics.

That's why I suggested looking at what else has been put forward in the thread, to see if any of them met your requirements for something harsher.

"Traitor", for example. Does that meet your requirements?

I often wonder how closely President Trump's inner life matches the inner life imagined by his critics. It seems to me that he thrives on the conflict, enjoys the give-and-take of name-calling, and sees the abuse as evidence of his successful trolling. He certainly doesn't seem demoralized by it. Are you tired of all the winning? Because Trump isn't tired yet.

Then there's the wildly aspirational aspect of this name-calling. The magnificently unearned confidence of it. Maybe if the entire White House press corps started prefacing their questions with "Don...", it might get under his skin.* But I think we can all agree that what goes on in this thread has no bearing on that.

This leaves "... amusing to his many critics." Which really means "amusing to a few people on this forum." Which okay, it tickles your funny bone. And that brings me back to wondering about Trump's inner life. It seems like this thread has nothing to do with Trump's inner life, and everything to do with the inner lives of the people designing these clever epithets. Kind of like how The West Wing was a comforting parallel universe for progressives during the Bush Administration.

I have seen no evidence that Trump enjoys the give and take of name calling. Only the give. He does not appear to be demoralized by retorts, but I would not bet that this is due to anything more than his apparent ability to dismiss criticism as the work of wreckers, and his apparent ability to believe his own lies. I see more malice than enjoyment.

Speculation about his inner life presumes that there is something to speculate about.

Speculation about his inner life has been put forward repeatedly in this thread and others to explain the value of verbally abusing him.

I've lost track of the number of times some bit of abuse has been celebrated because it's really getting to him inside. Or some program of abuse is advocated because it's clearly going to make him upset inside.

I think he is more affected than he shows. He is remarkably and notoriously thin skinned, petty and vengeful. He got owned by Obama at the WH Correspondents' Dinner and his anger is almost palpable in the video. It's been claimed that dinner is when he decided to run for POTUS.

Maybe The One Thing That Will End Trump is if Barack Obama makes fun of him some more. Where is the National Hero when we need him most? Is he short on material? Has anyone considered telling him about all the pith and wit put forth in this thread?
