Not here in Chicagoland. The forecast is for continued snow flurries throughout the afternoon and evening.

My attempts to photograph the eclipse using my digital compact camera through the eyepiece of my telescope aren't going well. I'm also having a go with the 500mm lens on the 35mm film camera, for which I hold greater hopes.
Is anyone doing better?

Not my pic, I should add, but a good friend of mine in Italy has been sending me a live feed via webcam, and the occasional hi res shot.

This is cool. I have been clouded out of almost every astronomical phenomenon I have tried to see, so this makes this one rewarding.

I did get to see one several years ago in its full glory. Nothing like a blood-red full moon to perk up a long night.

It should up for you now. It rose in Cary at 18:07 EST at azimuth 81.4°. But it would almost impossible to see while in total eclipse amid an early twilight sky.
