Kidman was a scientologist for a while. After she got out, they divorced. I've read that Scientology arranged the divorce but i don't know if that's true.
 
BTW
Every scientologist has to report every criticism of scientology he/she has heard. The scientologist can then be ordered to 'disconnect' from the critical person, even if that person is a spouse/parent/child.
In the case of Cruise/Kidman, we'll probably never know because the divorce contract contained a non-disclosure agreement.
