There is a science-based podcast called This Week in Science that I listen to that I thought would be of interest to my fellow forumites.

It is produced out of KDVS at the University of California - Davis and covers some of the top science stories of the week. They also invite a guest (usually a scientist of some sort) on each week to talk about their recent book, article, or favorite science topic.

It is hosted by Kirsten Sanford and Justin Jackson. Kirsten is a graduate student and is about to get her PhD. Not sure of Justin's role outside of the show, but while he can get a little exuberant at times, provides a good counterpoint to Kirsten. They're pretty good (Kirsten has a sexy voice! :D ) and do a good job covering the science.

I think you will enjoy it.

I'll second this recommendation. i've been listening to TWIS for...well, a while now (at least a year), and I've found it enjoyable and informative.

And, you're right...Kristen's voice.....mrrrrrow!

and the podcast feed for people who don't use iTunes is where?

I don't think it is available outside of iTunes now days. It used to be available from their web site but it was continually broken and I think they eventually outsourced it to someone for posting on iTunes.

ETA: They have episodes from 2000 - 2005 still on their site and you can subscribe to a version they email to you and can listen to without iTunes. But I am not sure you can put it on a MP3 player.
