Back when TAM 1 happened, I tried to plan an online prank on the forum members who went. It did not happen. To short of a notice and two few ideas. I then attended the next two TAMs.

I am not going again. Time to think of another prank. What can we who are not going do to mess with the heads of those that are going? Nothing harmful should be done. Nothing that costs anyone much time or trouble should be considered.

Obviously, if you have a good idea, don’t post it here in the open.

Let your imagination fly. It may be possible to enlist one or more of those attending to help.

Now I know that putting this notice out in public could render such a thing impossible. But that depends on just how devious the minds of people around here really are.

Lighting failures at previous TAMS came close to that. No need to repeat what already happened by accident. Not to mention that would be one that could get people in trouble...unless Betheke could really blind someone.

I'll pretend I'm attending all the way from Australia, but then drop hints that I won't be able to make it after all. That will make them think I'm not actually attending.

But I WILL attend! And they will be extraordinarily surprised to see me!

I'm not saying anyone should do this, but...

It would be great if someone slipped some exploding cigarette loads into Christopher Hitchens's smokes.

I am not going to TAM, and I have no good ideas on any pranks.

However, if there is a good one that is going to be implemented, and you obviously don't want to post it in a thread, please PM it to me so I know.

In the meantime, I'll see if I can come up with something. :D
 
Last April I attended one of the premier model car shows in the US. We were sad to learn that one of the great modelers who had attended for years could not make it. After two full days we discovered that a flauntingly gay, overdressed, somewhat unfriendly newcomer was actually that modeler. We had all seen him for two days without recognizing him. Now that's acting!

I think someone should translate Brown's crossword puzzle into Arabic before it gets copied and added to all the welcome packages :p I nominate kitten to pull off that prank.
