The Imminent Zombie Apocalypse

Well, yeah, but that's dogs. That just makes sense!

Personally, I'd like to see zombie insects and arachnids. Especially somewhere like Australia.

When I lived in Melbourne we had these largish spiders (Huntsman?) that scuttled around at about the speed of a mouse, and was pretty good at falling out of sun visors and into your lap while you were driving. Zombified versions of those would be freakin' awesome (in a movie...not too keen on the idea in real life).

No smart zombies. I make the rules here.

Your zombies may be under-achievers but mine are Summa Cum Loudly.
And they don't want brains, they just want my bank account.
They like the pasta at Olive Gardens.

Good to be involved in a thread of such importance.

Zombies downfall is that despite their threat in numbers, simple thing like locked doors prevent there movement.

Their tendancy to group close together in large numbers can be used against them.

Forget the walking Dead, suggest listening to the "we`re alive" podcast. Great plot with realistic characters acting as most people would in similar scenarios. Let us know your thoughts. Podcast is free and can also be found free on itunes.

In this scenario assume the above five conceits about zombie infections are true.

Will the infection overtake the entire world? And if so, how long before it reaches the city of Dunedin in New Zealand? I chose Dunedin because it's on the other side of the planet and is geographically remote. On the other hand, lots of Kiwis have British Ancestry and there is more air-traffic between the UK and New Zealand than may otherwise be assumed.

You did not qualify your Carrier Zero - the source of the infection is unknown, thus the question cannot be answered without additional information.

Unless of course this first zombie in London just happens to zombify by choice, then I'd say no, the infection will not get to New Zealand. It may spread, but it would be quarantined and crushed.
