One was built to stop suicide bombers and the other was built to stop illegal aliens.

From the point of view of someone who has made a few illegal entries. The Jewish fence is superior in its design. The American fence is installed horizontally, making it little more than a ladder to be climbed. Take a rope and a hook and your over. The section shown at the bottom, with the overhang, would require a bit more effort. Come to think of it I’ve never seen a security fence that was built so easy to climb. A Mexican contractor must have build it that way on purpose.

The Jewish fence with its vertical section can still be crossed with a rope and hook, but traction on it would be more difficult in scaling it.

It looks downright flimsy next to the Berlin Wall, and that didn't even last 50 years. Growing up, it seemed as immovable as Everest.

See where I'm going with this, Demon?
The Great Wall of China has stood for almost 3,000 years. Hadrian's Wall lasted 300 years. Just go to show they don't build walls like they use to.

That is not that easy in an urban area.
Why not? Beside most of the fence runs through open lands. Do you really think Israel will do nothing to prevent the fence from being destroyed?

The point is not to completely destroy the wall, it is more the absurdity of the ideia, of some medieval weapon being used against a 21th century wall, and a modern military force, with all the technology available, have to fight a weapon made of wood and stone.
That is what will make the wall look completely ridiculous. People would make jokes of it for centuries to come (maybe). I bet that that would be more useful to the palestinian cause than some terrorist act.

The only absurdity I see is the idea of it. What do they do assemble it on the spot or assemble elsewhere and drag it up? Either way it would be a highly visible time consuming project. The Israelis would have plenty of time to respond before the trebuchet was ready. What size of rock were you thinking to use to knock a hole and how many do you think it would take?

In a tv show they bild up one
Here is the transcription
NARRATOR: To test out Hew's confidence in the destructive capability of a medieval trebuchet, NOVA is preparing some hard sandstone balls weighing 250 pounds - and a wall. It's made of sandstone and lime mortar. In construction and design, it is based on the upper section of a typical castle wall of the 13th century. Hew wants to build a trebuchet capable of knocking it down, but at a range of 200 yards,

But you can build a lot of small ones, just for fun

Or you could buy one, like this for just 4000$.
