The Bermuda Triangle

I've written it before, and I'll write it again:

You're a special guy, Ray.

:D Ha, as long as you don't put quotes around -special-. :D

What color are those "big eyes?"

(I suppose with 22 eyes, they pretty much cover the spectrum of the rainbow.................)

No, most are blue, though two of them have more green than blue. The nest is slowly emptying out and Mrs. RayG is saddened that we don't have the pitter-patter of little feet in the house anymore. I'm betting once the children start their own litters, that will change. Afterall, I AM an expert at changing diapers. ;)

I keep telling her if we ever win the lottery, we're heading back to Bermuda for a long and well deserved break.

My youngest daughter has already informed me that she's planning to have her children when I retire so that the children can be with me while she works.

It's going to be the Huntster Child Care Service around here.

(My daughter is used to that; she grew up with her maternal grandparents next door.)

I thought about this more last night while I was sleeping, so lets change the definitions of what we are talking about.

How many legs does a dog have?
How many legs does a dog have, if you call a tail a leg?

How many legs does a dog have if he's flying over the East Pole?

Take it from someone who has crossed both the International Dateline and the Equator six times in three years. Nothing happens to your compass when you switch from west to east or from north to south.

Hmm, you must have a better quality compass than I do - I have both a northern and a southern hemisphere compass. Simple "flat" orienteering compasses *are* affected by crossing the equator. The flux diagram posted in this thread shoud indicate why...

Think about the mechanical construction of a compass.

Me personally, no. I couldn't tell you which way east was if it was just sunrise. Fortunately, however, the US Navy* has invested in at least a few higher-end gadgets, and can :)

*For all you non-USians out there, I'm not trying to imply that your Navies aren't as high-tech as ours. I use the descriptor because the US Navy is the only one that I'm familiar with.
