I know someone's going to bring this up, so it might as well be me.

From the commentary:
Today it would be difficult to find a scientist who still accepts the wunderkinder of earlier days, though the hoi polloi often seem impervious to the influence of better and different data.
::twitch twitch:: the hoi polloi ....argggghhhhhh

Also, I know someone a while ago commented on this, but....
I think the use of the word "bright" to describe a skeptic who also lacks religious beliefs sounds a little too self-serving and complacent. It's not much better than "Moral Majority" in that department. I know it'd be nice to have a word for that concept, but can't it be a neutral one? Please?

OK, I'm going to stop complaining now and finish reading the commentary.

I would guess that's a battle you ain't ever gonna win. :)

Most of my battles are like that. I have this wretched habit of picking out the most trivial, anal retentive facet of a complex discussion and seizing on it. It's like I'm looking at a beautiful, towering cathedral, and all I can see is the mouse hole under the stairway. Every time that happens, I tell myself that iit's the last time, and from now on I'm either going to have something important to say, or I'm not going to say anything at all. And that'll work just fine until I see another mouse hole.

Thanks for the link :) Minus points for using "ain't" just to annoy me.

I'd like to say welcome to the club, but if I did that, I suspect one of my antagonists on this forum would seize upon that and try to hammer me with it.

I only did that because I couldn't think of a clever way to use the word "irregardless". :D
