we all know how a radio works, couldnt it be possible that a brain would be modified in a way to receive and send radiowaves sometime in the future?

there is already a way that brainwaves are meassured to give easy commands like left and right. so one could implant a sender to transmitt this commands only problem would be the receiving part imo.

i think i would undergo such surgery for 1 million $.

I can't help feeling that if such surgery existed it might be excluded from the JREF challenge.

And that it would cost more than $1 million.

And it would have to be invented.

Yes, it is possible. In fact I believe someday it will be like cellular phones, but implanted directly in the brain. Note that this is completely speculative and I put my prediction in a distant future. It will be simply matter of convenience.

Oh, and of course, it will not be candidate for the JREF million.
 
Hang on; this is not so implausible:

Suppose we can find some way to encode the thoughts into compressive waves. From here, it is a simple matter to convert these waves to voltage signals, and to modulate these into radio waves. (An external apparatus could be used for this part). On the receiving end, the demodulated waves can be somehow fed into the cochlea, which already has sensory nerves adapted to that sort of thing, and the receiving person only needs to learn how to understand the resulting stimulus.

Can I have the $Million now?

This has occurred to me before. You could call someone just by thinking about them!

"Hi. I'm not in my head right now. Please leave a message at the beep."

How about what you see being transmitted as streaming video?

And as long as you can transmit brain waves, why not the sensations you are feeling?

What was that Christopher Walken movie?

this reminds me of the joke: (in my ownwords so it may not be as funny) also slighty changed for compatibility to the topic :D not necessarily to offend anyone.

Three men, one Japanese, one Psychic and one Skeptic were sitting half-naked in a sauna. Suddenly there was a beeping sound. The Japanese pressed his forearm and the beep stopped. The two men looked at him with curiosity. "That was my pager," said the Japanese, "I have a micro-chip imbedded in my forearm.

A few minutes later a phone rang. The Psychic fellow stuck his index finger in to his ear and his pinky near his mouth . When he finished he explained, "That was my mobile phone. I have a micro-chip in my head and the speaker in my fingertip."

The Skeptic felt low tech, but decided not to get out-done. He stepped out of the sauna and went to the restroom. Moments later, he returned with a piece of toilet paper dangling from his arse. The others raised their eyebrows. "Well, will you look at that, the Skeptic explains, "I'm getting a fax."

Hey, what kind of cheap plastic imitation of sauna that is? As the most sober Finn[*] of these forums I have to inform you that the only proper way to go to sauna is fully naked.

[*] Which isn't necessarily saying too much since pillory is the main competitor for that title.
