Mr. Skinny said:Well, I'll throw in my two cents here and say that I've been to TLN's debate room on Paltalk and was amazed at how civil the tone is.
I've even commented to TLN that while he can occasionally come off as a bit confrontational and @ssholish on this forum, I've not sensed that attitude from him in the Paltalk room.
Clancie, Ian.......you should at least give it a try. Paltalk allows multiple user names, so you could come in under another name and just lurk. That would give you a good idea of how the room is run.

TLN's Paranormal Debate room is not in any wise a "let's talk about what TLN wants to talk about" room. When convo gets slow, TLN comes on and practically begs visitors to bring up a paranormal topic - any paranormal topic. And TLN is by far not the only person there. I think discussing your case studies is a perfect idea, and would fit well with the room. In any case, skeptics are typically outnumbered there on the order of 3 to 1 in some cases, sometimes even more; so you shouldn't feel uncomfortable there.
I've talked to you a few times on Paltalk, Ian. I like you much better "in person" when compared to what you write in the forum. Heck, I even ejoyed your singing (well, after I've had a few drinks myself, lol).Interesting Ian said:From my brief acquaintance with TLN on paltalk I agree he seems to be fine on there. Certainly nowhere near as bad as he is on here. But there again people say that about me too.

Maybe that's the point. You and TLN are both nicer in Paltalk than on the forum. Maybe the debate would be more interesting and civil. Who knows?
Lol. Definitely better.Posted by TLN
Does this help?
Yes, I'll think about it, too, as I've never tried it. But, like you, Ian, it'd be a spur of the moment thing for me, not something I want to plan for or "schedule" ahead of time.Posted by Interesting Ian
I will go on paltalk again. But I don't know about especially arranging a time.

Did you go to your fights in a drunken state so that you wouldn't remember that you lost?

Nah, I never used to turn up.
Interesting Ian said:TLN has an ego problem. He has been comprehensively outargued on here, so he wants to have an argument on paltalk instead because he feels I won't be able to defend my arguments so easily when I do not have time to think before responding. I think this would only be the case if he or someone else were to say something intelligent. Can't imagine it happening somehow. It's never happened on here, so why should it happen on paltalk?
Well sorry you had to wear the "woo" title, nothing much I can control about that.Interesting Ian said:No, there was about 25 people in last time I was in there. Amateur Scientist said I was the only "woo". And the conversation is mind-numbingly boring. No paranormal topics were discussed at all.

In a way, forums like this is a perfect platform for them to advocate their beliefs, without ever having to really examine the beliefs themselves.
