Ethnic bigotry aside, this is exactly my point. Though gratuitous violence and property damage from Bristolians who have no good reason for it does kind of undermine your claim.

Why should the majority white population of anyplace be offended by a monument to a famous slave transporter? Indeed, how silly. Why should black lives matter to those of us watching the world burn from our cozy couches?
