TAM3 Confessions

I enjoyed you very much Shane, you're a sweetie, and can dance, but you're tall :p :D

So wear platforms at TAM4! I promise I won't let you fall... ;)

Hey, you heard it here, Shane will be my personal crutch when I try to wear platforms the next time I see him!

Now, we've got kissing Claus, hanging onto Shane, hmmm...will be very busy next time I get to a TAM!

I have a confession to make. When I was sitting next to Eos at the hottub, trying to explain the uncertainty principle and some of its consequences to her, I spent pretty much the entire time staring at her legs.

Which just goes to show, I do not have a one-track mind. It is two-track. I can think about two completely different subjects at once, as long as one of them is sex. :D

Dr. Stupid

Stimpson J. Cat, lol, you were the one I was talking to in the Buffet Line Up. I have to thank you for keeping me awake on both occasions. Um, I guess looking at my legs is better than looking at my face judging from some of these darn photos! :p Here's to two - track minds!

I saw a photo of us all in the Hot Tub, I'll have to save it for posterity...off to look for it!

Oh, and I confess to a Vegas marriage to DR. Unfortunately, I'm fickle and went back to my hubby a few days later :D Polygamy is illegal afterall...

I think you just insulted Moe here :p

I dont know. I mean, Joe Nickell and I did go a bit overboard - but that sort of kinky thing he thought up involving alien suits and the toasted cheese Mary was fun. Mind you,we had to spend hours making a NEW toasted cheese Mary to replace the one we ruined in a fit of passion. I think the new one looks better, and is at least fresher.

I confess that ninety percent of the photos I took were crap. This was a significant increase over TAM2, where only forty percent of my photos were crap.

The increase seems to be directly traceable to my purchase of disposable cameras that were of considerably poorer quality than the Kodak disposables that I had purchased last year. The increase also seems directly traceable to my use of the one-hour photo finishing department at the Walgreens across the street from the Stardust.

Brown, get a digital camera. You can have fun with the picture makers at Wal Mart or anywhere. You can make a picture black and white and only print the ones you want. And print as many of those you want.

Even a not so good digital camera will be better than a disposable. The cute little photo dept teenagers will be glad to show you how to put the chip thingy in to make your pictures.

I'm into REAL photos, so I printed up a bunch of the better ones to send off to people. If you can't put TAM pictures on your fridge what is the point?

I also discovered photo mugs! Those are fun!

I have considered this. But I don't take very many pictures as it is, and I haven't been able to justify the investment. Also, I have been unimpressed with the quality that I've seen from most digital cameras.

But digital cameras are getting better every day, and are costing less. And my experience with the el-cheapo camaras has provided some justification for the investment.

For TAM2, I invested in a new set of luggage... and it was worth it! perhaps for TAM4, I'll invest in a digital camera.

That's what I'll need to invest in next year. I invested in a camera in 2004. This year, I invested in clothes to wear while my luggage was on it's way to my destination ...

I bought a digital camera for TAM3, and I didn´t regret it. Nor did any of those whom I sent pictures... :D

When you get a digital camera, you will discover that your attitude towards picture-taking changes dramatically.

It's an investment, sure, but you can forget about paying for development etc. ever again. You snap, snap, snap, and just delete those you don't like. Save the pix on cheap CDs. Don't have to scan pics from paper. You can do wonders in Photoshop.

Before, I only used my non-digital camera on vacations and for parties, and had to calculate what 36 scenes I would take snaps of. Today, I will sometimes bring it with me, just in case I see something interesting. Beautiful clouds, an interesting building, an ugly dog, anything.

Just remember that if you DO buy a digital camera, to get extra batteries (at least one set, I personally have two sets because they came packed in a handy pouch of four batteries).
Also useful is a larger memory card, since the dinky 8 or 16 MB cards most cameras come with by default are full after only about two dozen pictures.
But like Claus says, you just take and retake pictures, and you only have to worry about memory card space and battery life, and my camera can fit 315 pictures on a 256MB card, so all that matters is how quickly I can switch my batteries :D

(Cough. Er, did I say thanks, thanks, thanks, enough Claus for saving my arse with your battery recharger at TAM? Thanks again mate, would have been lost after the first day!)

Ahem. Yeah, battery recharger. A must. :( Argh, if only I was as wise as Exarch!!! :)

Oh, yes. I have a 512Mb card, plus an extra battery. I usually bring my recharger, too. The 512Mb makes it possible to - as a certain singstress here can testify to - record small movies. Not the greatest quality, but still....

.......I will now take questions from the audience.

Yes?

"How did you save Kiless' arse using a battery recharger?"

Well....I'm a gentleman. No comment.

Thank you, and goodnight.
