TAM event suggestion

Not sure if this is a good place for this, but we are wondering about the shows to see in Vegas while we are there. We have only booked on show - Penn and Teller at the Rio - we got what I hope are great seats very close to the front in the & section. We have two more nights (Monday and Tuesday before TAM) and are looking for suggestions.

If you are a Beatles fan then Love might interest you. I really enjoyed it 2 years ago and am thinking of going again this year,

Love at Mirage, BeatleShow at Planet Hollywood, Mac King's Comedy Magic Show at Harrah's.

I second that recommendation for Mac King. It's a really great afternoon show. Good combination of magic and comedy.
All the seats are good for Penn & Teller, btw.

I like the idea of screening a movie if we had a room to do it in. And a riff trax or MST3K type of screening would be pretty funny.

Does anyone here know if we could use the main ballroom for this, maybe Saturday Night?
It will be used the next day for the papers presentation and maybe the $Million Dollar Challenge...so the chairs will still be there.

I wasn't planning on seeing the Max Maven show or doing any walking around Las Vegas assuming it will still be in the 100 degree range at night like last year.

we are like the front row of the section, i think only two rows are in front of us - wanted a closer look, the last time we saw Penn & Teller we were in the worst seats in the house, it was in a Theatre in Toronto for one of their talks with them. It was a bit far away, but was still a great time, despite the theatre was built with the idea that those in the lower class did not need leg room, the seats almost touched those in front of them.

My little sister grew up loving the Harry Potter thing. Since she lives in Vegas, I'll be taking her to the midnight 3d movie. She wants to do the double feature, but there's no way I can handle that.

This thread started off as a suggestion for a fun movie to watch (also related to the TAM 9 theme).

How did it end up about Harry Potter? :(

It's a much better movie than Plan 9.

Since the latest Harry Potter isn't out yet, it's a bit premature to claim that (though I predict your precognitive skills will be spot-on).

But Plan Nine, though a terrible movie, would have been a fun one to watch with a group of people, especially if it had been the Rifftrax version, which is quite funny. And as noted it's related to this year's theme.
