Syria getting bad

What do we make of the million strong rally in support of President Assad in Damascus a few days ago?

I mean clearly they are suffering from false consciousness and definitely they lack the intelligence, culture and sophitication of us JREFers.
But the question I want to raise is how can we convince them that prancing about in heroic poses with AK-47s and Rocket-Propelled-Grenades is so much fun and will win them lots of smouldering looks of desire from the Humanitarian Left?

Honestly, who wouldn't want to be like Iraq?

Afghanistan - uncorked the bottle of Islamic violence in the 1980s - still not recorked.
Iraq - uncorked the bottle of Islamic violence in 2003 - still not recorked
Libya - deliberately intervened to prevent the Government recorking Islamic violence - civil war now merrily raging - unlikely to be recorked any time soon.

And after three utter and resounding failures which have led to untold misery, we are determined to do everything we can to try and destroy another state

Libya is not known to be an Islamic uprising or a failure at this point. Though I didn't support the introduction of US/European arms into the conflict, I'll withhold judgement on the result.
