Surreal: NRA blames Connecticut shooting on... video games

I submit that banning scary looking guns won't do anything except boost sales of said guns up until the deadline.Putting MORE of those guns out in the public's hands!

Regulations on guns exist in most developed countries, what the US seems to have allowed to develop over a period of time is a set of ineffective regulations, this needs to be addressed, I have been visiting the US since I was a child and even lived in NYC in the 90s for a while and I have seen this obsession with weapons slowly build up and the almost religious attitude to the 2nd Amendment emerge as well.

You need more effective regulation make it tighter, a ban on guns is unrealistic.

If someone really feels they needs a military level gun then they should expect to be tested for mental stability and prove they can store it safely and know how to use it at the very least.

Perhaps one of the gun guys will chime in here. But I am under the impression that the hoops and taxation of "military level" weapons ARE pretty stringent.

Less stringent are the guns that "look" military. In another thread I put a picture of two guns that were identical in their function and caliber. One looked like grampaw's deer rifle, the other looked like an M-16. (but would be banned as an assault weapon).
