Supreme Court rules for Gun Ownership

The potential for a wild-west scenario where an OK Corral is, I opine, a bit more possible with this decision. However, since regulation is not illegal with this ruling, it won't be as bad as I described. I'm all for regulation. I could live with bans as well, but regulation is good for me.

Nobody is saying there shouldn't be any regulation...

Anyway, in Arizona, starting this July, anybody who can legally own a handgun (basically anybody who is 21 or over and not a felon) can carry a concealed carry; no permit required. I doubt there is going to be more violence on the streets, but we'll see.

Yeah, but the problem is that, in Chicago and other big cities, regulation of a specific, enumerated Constitutional right in the hands of corrupt authoritarians. Would posters here be comfortable with, Mayor Marion Barry in DC or Kwame Brown in Detroit banning one type of religion? Or banning a newspaper?

Given the pummeling that big cities give to the fourth and fifth amendments, it's nice to have a little life breathed into the second.

Especially when you have a mayor who enjoys committing sodomy with bayonets.

I actually don't live in Philly. I was just too lazy to change my location when I moved out. Besides, I intend to move back if I get the chance. The nice parts are nice. The ugly parts are...well...less nice.

Is it always sunny?

Has the Supreme Court been established as superior to Daley?

Personally, the data I've seen points to not much of a difference, or at least not enough to isolate accurately, with gun laws.

I like this because it reinforces the 14th amendment. It is just rational.

On the issue of an OK Corral being more likely because of this...

It was a 30 second, by most estimations, shootout with police involving a rather small number of people. There have been worse shootouts in Chicago during the time in which they restricted guns. You see criminals are not going to look at a gun ban and say, "Well gee I guess I shouldn't use a gun to rob and murder this woman because having the gun is illegal."

For the most part when people talk about the Wild West and the OK Corral I generally roll my eyes because they are talking about the Hollywood version.

Florida and Texas have pretty liberal concealed carry laws. Not too sure about how many OK Corrals (Hollywood or other) have occurred in those states.

Yeah, because the President being black can some how magically prevent murders.

:jaw-dropp Thank you for giving me the idea for the greatest Blaxploitation film ever. No you won't get a cut but you will get a lifetime pass to six flags.

Sir, are you implying corruption in Chicago politics?

There is NO corruption in Chicago Politics. It it outrageous to suggest such a thing.
And anybody who says different, Mugsy and Luigi will come over and have a little chat with them......

I don't agree that the gun issue is remotely similar to freedom of speech and religion.
